Holy shit, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 are included! I did not know this. Merry Christmas indeed!
Seriously?
I knew about MGS2 but I never read anywhere that the original was included. Is it maybe just on the 360 version because they can't get it off PSN? My thinking it didn't have the original was the main reason I decided not to get it. I may need to revise that decision

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Thanks to you too. It's been hectic these past couple of days.
BTW, I'm near the end of Xenoblade....... it's an incredible epic game.
The only thing is that I have a character dressed in this eye popping outfit which distracts me from the awesome cutscenes.
Don't click unless you want a spoiler in your face
You can ride some hoverbike thing in Kid Icarus?

I think he means the old Metal Gear games from the 80's....not MGS from the PS1. In fact I know he does. I personally think Twin Snakes should have been included in the package, as its basically the same game as MGS1 just with new cutscenes and bumped up to PS2 level graphics. Its Konami's game, so I don't think the collaboration with Silicon Knights should have stopped it from being included. Then it would have been the perfect collection. Oh well.
I preordered my copy of Xenoblade the other day!!! Forgot to tell you guys....totally stoked about the game.
The original Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker. The two original Metal Gear can be played through MGS 3's menu. It look as though it's the Substenance version of MGS3 with a million bonus features.BTW the Xbox version of MGS HD Collection does appear to be cleaner looking than the PS3 version, which I find comical since these gamnes were built on Playstation hardware. Its not a huge difference, but its there. I don't know what the hell Sony did with the PS3, but it goes to show that you're better off going with PC components from PC companies, than creating your own as they always do.
I think that's why the 360 always gets superior stuff even though its not as powerful, because they went with ATI graphics cards and AMD boards like Nintendo also does. It gives developers an easy to use, familiar playground to work with. ATI cards are also very good with vibrant colors and special effects I have noticed, which is why I prefer them over Nvidia. Though Nvidia cards have their benefits too.
I think Nintendo had something to do with Twin Snakes, that is probably why it is not in the HD collection.Yeah its the "Game of The Year" versions of MGS2 and MGS3; Substance and Subsistence.
Heh, Konami were doing the GOTY thing before anyone else...what pioneers they are!
Probably. Still though, its too bad. Would like to see it in widescreen and HD. Maybe on Wii U.
Well, there are Nintendo Easter Eggs in the game, but wouldn't it be easy for Konami to make changes and include it anyway? Kinda like with the Banjo games and Perfect Dark on the 360.Midna.

But they can't reuse the code because it is property of Nintendo. They had to start from scratch I think. Same thing happened with Banjo if I am not mistaken. The code? What do you mean?
The game engine was borrowed from MGS2 and the cutscenes were redone at Konami. The only thing Nintendo and SK did as far as I know was work on the gameplay and add in shit like the Mario plush dolls lying around some areas.
The code to run it on the Gamecube. To be able to get Twin Snakes running without changing the code you would need a Gamecube emulator. Nintendo would not allow that to happen on rival consoles. But this is WAY outside my expertise. I could and probably am talking out of my arse. You really need to ask Yoda about these stuff."Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime briefly spoke to All Things Digital about what consumers should expect from Wii U. One of the things Fils-Aime did mention is that pricing for console will be priced substantially higher than Wii and that Wii U will mainly interest consumers who want to have the latest gadgets and have a higher disposable income."
Reggie is sounding like good Ol' Ken K. around the PS3 launch.
They are crazy if they go any higher than $300 if the machine isn't going to offer the kinds of online services and whatnot that the others do. And the tech behind the machine better be substantially beyond Xbox360 to justify the price.
There's someone named Dr. Strangelove in MGS Peace Walker.
