Okay I officially hate Portal 2. God I suck at this game...
I fell in love with Chinese ink paintings in Xian.
I'm not one to buy and hang pictures but there was honestly so much stuff I saw that I loved there. If it wasn't so damned expensive.
Ladies, Gentlemen... and Robio... I present to you
the ---BEST--- nay! ---THE ULTIMATE--- opening to any fighting game ---EVER--- ! ! !
Sorry Leo, I saw that last night and frankly I found it boring. I will be picking up my copy later on today though.
OH MY GOD!!!! Rocket Raccoon fucking rules!!!
OH MY GOD!!!! Firebrand fucking rules!!!
I know! I just got home with Halo and Metal Gear HD....was gonna get MGS HD the other day, but Best Buy didn't have it yet. So today when I picked up my reserved copy of Halo at Gamestop, I figured I'd grab it there seeing as I had already braved the Gamestop Super-Nerd squad.
Gonna install now.
Whoa....you actually did go to China? That painting is awesome. It reminds me of Okami.
Fucking updates!
I pop in Halo Anniversary, install it...then go to halo waypoint, needs a big ass update.
Turn on PS3 while I'm doing that, pop in MGS HD...that needs an update and an install....WTF.
Turn on itunes.....do you want to install the latest version? NO! FUCK OFF!
Fap? No, my friend. Not fap. YOU REAM THAT ASS WITH THE FURY OF A NORSE GOD! THUNDER BETWEEN YOUR LEGS!
PLaying the 1st mission in Halo Anniversary, and I'll tell you the new graphics engine makes a huge difference here. Remember, the Pillar of Autumn mission was always very bland and boring looking compared to the others levels. Now it looks very vibrant and colorful. And being able to go back and forth between the old engine and the new one by hitting the select button was a genius move....all remakes should do this. Then whenever someone says "It doesn't look all that much better" you have the proof a button press away.
The graphics seem to be around Halo 3 quality overall....maybe slightly worse. Definitely not ODST or Reach quality. But this engine also seems more colorful than any other Halo engine, which is nice and adds to the vintage vibe of the game. I just wish they would have did a collection with Halo 2 included also...I mean then the entire series would be on 360, and Halo 2 had major graphical issues that could have been addressed.
^ Halo 2 will be remade on its 10th year anniversary.
Halo 2 is like the red headed stepchild of the franchise because of the arbiter and its horrid ending. Red headed stepchilds don't get any remakes.
"No remake for you"
What a run of GREAT games in the last few days!

Starting with Skyrim. My respect for Bethesda has completely turned around with this game! I must have put a solid 20 hours or so into the game and HAVE NOT encountered a single bug! FINALLY, an Elder Scrolls game I can enjoy! So many quests, such a picturesque world. There's sooo much to do. You could live a lifetime in the game and not even approach the main storyline. I FINALLY get what you have all been raving about these last few years! By the way, the reviews for the PS3 version have finally been released, and the verdict: arguably the better looking console version (at least until the 360 texture bug is fixed); the only issue (since it isn't entirely installed on the PS3) is slow load times. It's not THAT bad at all. Certainly worth waiting thru to play the more stable version of the game for now! I LOVE how they made it so much more accessible stat and skill wise, and yet didn't have to dumb it down to do it! MASTERPIECE!

Saint's Row: The Third -- The videogame definition of Irreverent. It takes the GTA formula and mocks it at every turn, while mocking other games ...and gamers... and ITSELF all at the same time! So much action. So much freedom. The character creation is impeccable and let's you create nearly anyone you want! It should be mandatory that ANYONE who has grown too tired and old to play games, should HAVE TO play this game! It goes out of it's way to make the gamer have a good time. From shoot outs to sing-alongs to streaking to 'whored' mode... Throw in Car Customization, Real Estate purchasing, Weapon Upgrading and Modification, Dressing up Your Character in Drag... or just going Butt-Naked. This is your Senior Year in College all over again in game form, but probably MORE FUN! Judging from the people on line last night to pick up this game, I could TOTALLY see this being some gamer's GOTY. What Skyrim is to WRPG fans, this game is to the Fast and the Furious crowd. You just gotta let yourself go and enjoy! Only one thing 'wrong' with the game though... the 'Sex Appeal' bulge-meter doesn't go to 11!

Rayman Origins -- Frolicking in disc form! Wow! Anyone here have fond memories of playing the original Rayman on PSOne? When I saw it for the first time, my jaw-dropped. I couldn't believe the graphics. The game play was challenging (for what I thought was a kid's game)... The platforming was the most satisfying of its kind since Mario would never be on Playstation. The music was absolutely unique... Everything was completely spell-binding for the time it came out back in the mid 90's. People who thought the Saturn had the market on 2D side-scrollers couldn't have been more happy... Now all console owners are getting the same treatment 16 years later! Ubisoft came up with a whole new game creation engine to make this game. It was supposed to be middle-ware that other development studios used for their own creative purposes, but Michel Ansel got his hands on it and WENT. TO. TOWN! You can TOTALLY tell Rayman is his baby. The care and attention given to this game is unmatched outside of Nintendo's own studios! Cartoon quality animation, Slapstick Humor... the way the whole game seems to have a RHYTHM, BEAT and LIFE of its own... it's extraordinary! The platforming here is no joke, either! Challenge, Secrets, Gradual Learning of Skill after Skill. Complete Replayability. This is one of those games you pop in to show non-gamers and watch their eyes bug out of their heads! Sorry Vader, in the battle of Sonic versus Rayman. The no-armed, thing-a-ma-bob that is Rayman wins, mysteriously-unattached-hands-down!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -- How does Capcom say Thank You and Fuck You to all of their fans and Comic Book geeks alike? First they MAKE a game featuring 50 of some of the most popular characters from both their world and Marvel's... and then they leave Mega Man out of it! Capcom loyalists are PISSED, but I think the Marvel fans are OK! All that aside... Popping in this game seems to have brought me back to the days where the Capcom Mash-Ups began. First they did X-Men: Children of the Atom and that became X-Men vs. Street Fighter, then they did Marvel vs. Street Fighter and it snow-balled from there! Maybe this is resonating with me so much right now because this series is like Capcom's Saint's Row... They take all the Street Fighter rules and chuck them out the window and make these games ALL about FLASH and FUN! It's utter craziness and I LOVE IT! ...even moreso now than when MvsC 3 first came out! I don't know why, but this game feels more 'complete.' The 12 new characters fit right in, as if they were meant to be there all along. The new stages are awesome! Even the controls feel more tightly tuned. Don't know what exactly it is, but this game's got me this time! I mean, where else in the world can you see Doctor Strange bitch-slap Nemesis?! Only right here, baby! Take my advice and let this game Take You for a Ride!
Shinobi 3DS -- Oops! I forgot one! I am pretty sure I will be the only person to appreciate this one though! For months following the announcement of this game, Trepidation thy name was Shinobi 3DS! One of my beloved series from the 16-bit days... handed over to Griptonite Games... the crap-tacular makers of such (s)hits as Women's Murder Club: Games of Passion and High School Musical 3 for the DS...? Oh. No! The name gave me hope. The developer gave me nightmares. ...but you know what? It didn't turn out half-bad!! Graphics aside, they made a pretty competent game this time! It plays like an old-school Shinobi, complete with Shurikens and Double Jumps. It's hard as nails... like the originals! It has a very addicitve SCORE-attack style gamepay to it. (Scores in this day and age?!) It's a throw-back, they kept it simple and they succeeded! It's almost like the original, re-imagined and in 3D... which is fine by me! When I want to take a break from the complexities of modern gaming, I can pop this in, tune out the world and pretend it's 1989 all over again! I am Phantom_Leo and I approve of this game!
Zelda.
Just wanted to say it before the day was over.
