I DID IT!!! I finished Gears of War 3 on Insane and let me tell you it is exactly that, and I loved it. Most chapters were done with 4 player co-op, some with 2 or 3, and a few solo. Insane difficulty is freakin' intense especially with a full party of 4. The mutators that can be used to change various aspects of the game are awesome. I need to get me these things.

Wandering around stores. No Dark Souls, no Go Vacation. Bullshit. Then I enter my local BB, find BOTH Dark Souls and Go Vacation in the rentals section, so I ask the clerk if they have them for sale as well. "um...no. They didn't came for sale, only for rentals" Ok, when are you going to have more copies for sale? "um...I don't think we'll ever have copies for sale of these games".

What the fuck, BB?

Rent them, they tell them you have lost them and want to pay for them.

A family member of mine died of diabetes. Before you were diagnosed, what were the symptoms? I keep having diabetes like symptons and yet most of the tests I've had say no, but they are usually spaced out once every few years.

Go Vacation is looking like a dud. 80% of GAF like it so far, I haven't checked today. It will be interesting, I wonder how NGamer managed to review a U.S game like a couple of days after it launched in the states? The US sites haven't even had time to give it a proper review, sadly.

Couple more impressions from GAF on Go Vacation.

One guy at GAF says it's a 7.5 game then changes his mind and bumps it up to 8.5

Bottom line is, I don't know how good or bad the game is since there have been no previews whatsoever since E3, but from what I'm reading there is a ton of content to unlock and see and the two sites and one mag I have seen, rushed out reviews in like less than a days worth of play - as there were no advance review copies sent out. From reading their impressions compared to others, they must have seen like 15% of the game if that and stuck a score on it.

There are people on GAF who got the game on launch day, played it for several days and still haven't even touched some of the resorts let alone the villa building, acheivements or full exploration of the islands.

60gb PS3 said:
I'd give the game a solid 7.5 it gets extra points for being ambitious. I havent even beed to the snow island or the villa.

The games are well done.. really well done just not as good as Wii sports.

I played some minigolf (one round) and it's about like Wii Sports gold but its a little different so it's hard to judge your swing so it's not as fun. Maybe I need to play it some more.

Im starting to agree with the comments about islands being too big. The city island it's hard to even tell where you're at.

Ive only played a few events that I liked on the city island one of them was that odd thing where you play a song on the wine glasses (forgot what it's called).

oh and put me down for loving the controls at least with the ATV and jetski. Just drive like youre holding a steering wheel it feels real natural. better than if it were just the analog stick, IMO.

Hoever doing this type of steering when your on the skateboard seems a little awkward.
EDIT:
Id like to change my score to an 8.5

Theres so much to do in this game that I think anyone with the least bit of interest wont be disappointed.

the virtual sword fighting is pretty fun. go carts is like a mini Ridge Racer. I was disappointed that there was no special reward for getting a 0ft in the bungie jump. )

Actually the skateboard controls are even making sense now. I like how you have to lean with both remotes to turn its sort of like keeping your balance on a real skateboard.

Go Vacation Gamer Dad review

The only new review out there. Might be more relevant to Steelo or Robio with kids.

Gamer Dad said:

If you want to take a vacation, but can’t afford one, might I suggest dusting off your Nintendo Wii and buying Go Vacation, a new outdoor sports game from Namco. Many reviewers have said that Go Vacation is a rip-off of Wii Sports Resort, but I disagree. Go Vacation is really more of a sequel to We Ski and We Ski and Snowboard, which were also great sports titles. Except in Go Vacation, not only do you get to visit a snow resort, you’ll also explore beach, city, and mountain resorts, too!

In the beach resort, you’ll get to do all sorts of sunny water activities like Jet Ski & ATV racing, beach volleyball, surfing, water gun fights, skydiving, and more. Then at the hip city resort, you’ll get around town and do tricks on inline skates and skateboards, as well as try a handful of carnival games. You’ll also race cars in what may be the closest thing we get to a Wii version of Ridge Racer!

The snow resort will feel very familiar to We Ski veterans. But not only can you ski and snowboard here, you’ll also race snowmobiles, sled on inner tubes, make snowmen, have a snowball fight, and go dogsledding! And finally in the rustic mountain resort, you’ll ride horseback, play tennis, try your hand at various shooting galleries and skeet shooting, go kayaking and rapid river rafting, and more! There’s so much stuff to do that brother Jeff calls it “Namco’s Every Game Ever!”

What makes this game different from Wii Sports Resort is that you can actually explore the resort island as you play the game. As you sightsee, you might find a secret mini-game, photo opp or bungee jumping spot, or maybe even hidden treasure! As you play and win mini-games, you’ll earn furniture and goodies you can place in your very own villa on the island! So it’s a bit like Animal Crossing, too! Maybe Jeff was right about calling it “Namco’s Every Game Ever!”

You can use your own Mii or make an avatar in the game. I recommend the avatar option, as you can put more clothes and outfits on it. You can even make a dog buddy to explore the island with you! Up to four can play at the same time while walking around the island and during mini-games. You can even use a lot of the Wii accessories that have been collecting dust around your house over the years, like Wii Motion Plus, the Wii Zapper and Steering Wheel, and even the Balance Board! Classic Namco arcade fans may want to keep their eyes and ears open, too, as you might spot a bush shaped like Pac-Man, or hear a classic arcade tune from Dig Dug or Mappy.

You’d think that a title with so many mini-games (there are over 50), that a good majority of them wouldn’t be very much fun. But that’s not the case here. I found only a tiny fraction of games that were duds. Most of the others were a lot of fun. Definitely one of the best third-party Wii games to come out in a long time!

Kid Factor:

Go Vacation is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Cartoon Violence. You can bump into people while you drive around, or shoot water guns at them, but that’s about as violent as it gets. Reading skill is helpful for the text instructions, but there are also picture cues so it’s not always necessary. My brother Jeff, who mostly plays only mature popular titles like Call of Duty or World of Warcraft, really likes Go Vacation, too, so you know it has to be good. Go Vacation makes for a GREAT family game. If you have kids who enjoy any of these outdoor sports, they WILL have fun with this game. Definitely put it on your Christmas list, or better yet, get it now!

New Go Vacation review from Wii Nintendo.net, link in the updates.

Review said:

If you’re like me and you’re looking for a relaxing game, with hours of exploration, rewards for your exploratory nature, several customization options and 50+ activities to participate in then Go Vacation is absolutely for you. At $29.99, Go Vacation should be in your library of games.

4.5 out of 5

LOL:

"I will say that Go Vacation is a great companion game to Dark Souls which I'm also playing at the moment. The moment I get too worked up or lose a ton of souls, I'll just fire up Go Vacation, haha."

I love the "special events" they have for Gears of War 3. Torque Bow Tag that they had a couple of days ago was great fun and before that Big Head mode was hilarious especially since their voices were also sped up and at a higher pitch ala the Chipmunks. This Tuesday will be Ticker Tuesday were all the enemies, except fot the bosses, will be Tickers in Horde mode. It should make it easier but can also be some crazy explosive fun.

You call up and say that you "think" you have lost it and enquire how much it would cost you if you can't find it again. If it's too much, bail.

Hello everyone, I missed NPD. Does no one post it unless I do?

Why are we talking about Go Vacation? I hear Batman is pretty good, maybe we should talk about that. Nyaa

So RE Revelations has online multiplayer, wow, Capcom is going all out with that game. i wouldnt be surprised if that game is on consoles within 2 years.

I am going to finish Dark Souls today, just in time for Batman tomorrow at midnight.

I'd give it a year, knowing Capcom. Good luck with Dark Souls, and I look forward to your contributions to our Batman thread!
