That was fun. Thanks for noticing that I have improved. Honestly it's not really due to playing though. Up until today I hadn't played since you and I played a few weeks ago. But as I started playing today I sort of had an epiphany and realized I'd been playing wrong. I just made a slight adjustment to my style and started seeing an immediate improvement. Kind of remember how I used to play back when I was in college.
I really am going to have to get the arcade edition soon. If you play regular Super Street Fighter mode there is NO ONE on anymore. All the online players have moved over to Arcade and without that I can't play against them. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it come Friday.
Just came back from collecting all 7 eggs for Lulu in Majora's Mask. 4 from the pirate base and 3 from pinnacle rock with the giant eels.
Ugh, I only had 2 jars so I had to go back and forth between the locations and drop off eggs - so annoying. Reminds me of why some people might have trouble playing this game. Also the time requirements, you really have to start all big activities on day 1 and slow down time. I remember originally playing this game and if you try and collect the eggs from midday on the 2nd day you're pretty much shagged and have to start all over again when time resets. Think that might have been very offputting to some.
There's also stuff like the frogs, you beat snowpeak and everything defrosts which reveals the frog leader. So you have to find all the frogs which you can't really do till much later in the game. Then you have to beat Snowpeak again to get everything to defrost again just so you can reassemble the frog choir. Also the Great fairies, it's not just a case of finding the fairy cave, you have to go into a dungeon and hunt down each and every missing fairy and they aren't even marked on the map. Even with the fairy mask its hard to find them all. This is hardcore, like Metroid Prime 2 - a real test at times.
Woo! AWESOME!!
To be honest, it's a little confusing going from AE to SSFIV. Gouken's moves, for example, are a tiny bit different from one version to the other. His F, D, DF + LP doesn't move AT ALL in AE, where as he rushes just a tiny bit in SSFIV. To do his counters in SSFIV you use Punches and Kicks; in AE you just use varying strengths of Punches. It throws me off a little bit, not to the degree to which I sucked today, but it's a little problematic. They didn't just balance the strength and life of the characters, they outright changed some stuff altogether!
I find with me, for as long as I have been playing, I rely on the Specials sooo much I find myself having NO IDEA what the regular old punches and kicks do. Not only do I not know how to counter some moves, I become ridiculously predictable! Just ask Yoda!
Robio: I noticed you playing some Ranked Matches... How did you do?
Not so good, but I got a couple wins in. I couldn't find a single match that wasn't out of the red connection status though. The matches were real choppy so half the time I barely had control. I really got to upgrade to Arcade.
Couple of wins is better than none at all!
Tru dat.
I will finally answer your collection question later when I get to a hotel.
I wouldn't say the dungeons suck, but they are certainly less memorable and there are far fewer. I think the Swamp temple is annoying because it's preceeded by that deku palace stealth section which is a little tough compared to Ocarina's Castle stealth bit. I agree with you, the rest of the game is so much more memorable than Ocarina there are so many quirky bits and an emotional investment here, it feels very unique and very special because of it. There is some pain in playing though with all the time and save mechanics.
I think Majora would be a better game without the rewinding of time shit constantly. They should have tripled the amount of time you have per cycle to give the game a bit of a breather.
I think if they did a 3DS remake they would at least alter the save system to give you a little more flexibility. I think the problem is when you do a big event, that opens up smaller events you can do. But if you run out of time or can't do the small event because you are missing some item or mask, you have to rewind time. Then redo the big event, to unlock the smaller events etc.
Still haven't played it....trying to decide between that and Dragon Age 2 at the moment.
Is anybody here of the opinion that women constantly think they're right more than guys do?
Unfortunately I am surrounded by obstinate characters of both sexes who always believe they are right. Just today I cut up a cake and put the rest in a box and left it out in the kitchen. I left it out because I knew that wherever I put it, someone would tell me I was wrong and move it anyway. Then later I was told to move it by a person standing right in front of it. I put it in a cuboard and was then told that that wasn't right and that I had to move it to a cuboard of their choosing.
I knew that would happen and they were standing right in front of it. It really pissed me off because they were just waiting to tell me I was wrong and they could have easily put it somewhere themselves, instead they told me to move it, watched, let me put it somewhere, just so they could tell me it was wrong 5 seconds later then made me move it where they wanted it in the first place.
This is the kind of bullshit mindgames I have to put up with.
I'm in the same boat here.
I would have taken out a slice, and thrown it at them. That's how things are done in my family.
Screw DA 2 get NV. It just got a major new patch too fixing some remaining glitches. Besides some game freezes it's run pretty smoothly for me. It's better than fallout 3.
I have both already...just trying to figure out what to play next.
I also have Bayonetta, Portal 2, The STALKER games, Starcraft 2, Far Cry 1, Beyond Good & Evil HD, and more to get to.
