I'm in the same boat. I haven't touched the Wii for all of 2011, with the exception of a couple times when I played one of the multiplayer games with my kids. I'm so happy I threw down for the PS3. Perfect timing for a new console.

...it's hard to shake the feeling that Mercenaries 3D is the slimy result of a Capcom executive meeting titled, "What can we get away with this time?" Add in the fact that the game basically has no resale value, and you're left with a worthless chunk of plastic that would probably poison you if it could. Like toxic waste, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a disposable byproduct that can't even be disposed of properly.

That is the best review I've read since 2005.

I kinda feel that if you haven't played all the games worth owning on a system you have only yourself to blame. It's a somewhat skewed view just looking at release schedules, you should look at what's availible and ask yourself, what haven't I got? In the case of Edge, Iga or myself we play most of the good wii games, unless you are like us there are tons of games you could get but haven't.

Endless Ocean 1 and 2 have 60 hrs of gameplay in them a piece, some people haven't played Metroid Other M yet, or Little Kings Story, or Silent Hill Shattered Memories, or SIn and Punishment 2 or even Goldeneye or Dead Space Extraction or HOTD Overkill, Madworld or No More Heroes 1 and 2 and more.

The people who haven't played these games, if they complain about Last Story and Xenoblade not being released I would feasibly ask them, would you really have bought them anyway? There is probably a direct colleration between the lack of sales for these hardcore games with the release intentions of NOA.

Goldeneye rumour which I highly doubt.

I don't see how they would manage to get approval for such a thing. A loose remake is one thing, and even that only appeared on Nintendo consoles (so far). But a HD version of the actual original title? On all consoles? No way.

I was skimming posts about the Nintendo fiasco and this dude on Gamespot brought up a great point:

"The funny thing about "Xenoblade," is that the name is a commercial move to ensure sales from fans of Xenogears and Xenosaga. But where were most of the Xenosaga fans? North America. It did better here than in Japan. "

"Xenosaga epi. 1 sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Ironically in Japan the game had a positive buzz and Famitsu gave the game 3 10s and a 9. Namco suits predicted it would sell 1.4 million in Japan alone. It only sold 300-400k and there were discussions of scrapping the project and not even bother to translate it into English becasue Namco thought the game was going to be alot less popluar in USA (which was idiotic becasue I think Xenosaga sold better in North America than it did in Japan). So when the game was released in NA it was only expected to sell 100k units and ended up selling between 600-800k. The game which was almost a money losing disaster turned out to be pretty profitable thanks to us Americans."
