I can count the number of JRPGs I have played on two hands or less. For me, I like my JRPGs like Golden Sun or Skies of Arcadia. They have to have turn based, menu based battles, have a managable size and accesible controls and story. And they must not drag. I think I'm more open to some WRPGs because they come across as action games with a bit of depth on top.

When I heard about tesselation and how the next gen of consoles would use it and it would be so much better, I did not imagine these "improvements"
Improvements don't come for free, someone has to make them. Crytek wasn't going to remake the whole game to take advantage of it now, since they didn't bother making it all for the launch, so they just do it on easy things like tiled bricks and such. Tessellation is a seamless, extreme level of detail setting. You basically get a ton more polygons for things up close and in view than you'd normally have to use for whatever you want.
OFF

ON

Of course this doesn't mean we don't have games that are prettier than the "off" setting. The stairs in this demo are ramps with it off. Obviously we haven't seen ramps for stairs since the N64. It just means you use different methods to achieve a similar result. But would never have this kind of up-close polygonal detail of the individual bricks without it. Although you could fake some of it with normal/parallax mapping. And of course it doesn't only apply to bricks as that dragon shows. It's a ton of extra polygons to use how you see fit.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

I'm just joking about.
So this story is depressing. Some 5 year old kid broke his TV screen while playing Wii, probably smashed the remote into the screen or something. So his mom punches him so hard in the gut that he suffered internal injuries and died.
Excited?
Ok, 3DS owners. You've had time with your handheld, so give us the verdict on the battery. How long does it actually work without recharging?
And the eye strain factor please. Seems since launch it's been a non-issue.
Quake is 15 today. Here were the System Requirements:
Pentium 75 MHz or better, 8MB RAM (if DOS) 16 MB RAM (Win95), VGA display or better, 100% Soundblaster-compatible sound card. 80 MB of available HDD space.
None, unless you have experienced problems with 3D in the past. Then its your fault.
Battery is about 3 hours with everything on. 8-9 hours as a DS.
If you are not playing Outland you suck.
So it seems like Mortal Kombat packs screwed up the online part of the game. That is why I was having so many connection issues. Seems if you have DLC packs and the person you play with does not, you get desynced often. Or if you got a free DLC with the game and bought the full pack later, you get issues. Even the new patch today was taken down cause it had issues.
I already played Outland...
...but I still suck!
Oh Yeah? Well, you guys playing Outland swallow!
Yeah, I played Quake on my first PC: Pentium 133MHz, 16MB RAM, 1.5GB HDD, Win 95. That PC kicked all kinds of ass in 1996!
Quake was single handedly responsible for my GPA dropping from a 3.5 to a 2.8 in one semester in college. Parties, drinking, women, whatever... none of that messed with my classes. Quake.... yeah that fucked things up for me just a bit. Funny thing is to this day I've never actually played through the main game. I almost exclusively played Quake CTF with friends, and god knows we could play that for hours.
I think Quake is part of the reason that to this day I'm not really a fan of FPS. After the good times I had with that game, no other will ever come close so why bother?
