Be sure to look through your Account Settings on PSN after signing up for your One Free Month of Playstation Plus. There is a Setting in there that either Allows or Denies the ability to Auto-Renew your subscription and start charging the monthly service fee to the Credit Card on your account. Set that to Automatic Funding: OFF!

Account Management>Transaction Management>Automatic Funding>OFF

Also in Transaction Management is an option to Require Password at Checkout. It may be a little inconvenient, but I recommend setting that to "On" too!

I have no CC in there. Sony guys can try to bill me all they want.

When you set it up, there is a note that pops up that it will auto renew unless you shut that option off. Default is on. It further claims that if you have no funds in your wallet it will grab them from whatever CC you have attached to your account. So everyone who is has gotten the free month make sure you do as leo says.
