Good to finally see some SSX gameplay. I really don't like the art style, but it does long fun.
Underworld was enjoyable enough, from what I've seen and read the TR reboot will be an Uncharted clone, which is fine by me. They are taking some serious time with it, which is another good sign.
I'm not really complaining about the added year of development as much as why hype it now? It's at least year-and-a-half away! It bugs me when publishers do crap like this. They make it appear as if it's "coming soon" when it's clearly not.
Wanderlust: Rebirth Open Beta Started

It's an indie online co-op action RPG, closer to Zelda than Diablo but with elements from both styles (I think, I remember playing a super early version ages ago), so it should please some people around here. You can check out the creators' lets play videos here and here. The full game costs $10 and there are deals for cheaper packs of up to 4.
Copy paste from the about page:
* Single Player and online Co-operative play modes for 1-4 players!
* Seamless integration from the interactive lobby to host/join other players!
* Awards (i.e. achievements) given and displayed for all to see!
* Over 65 awards, see if you can collect them all!
* Story-driven gameplay; players experience an epic fantasy adventure, together!
* 2 Different game modes and 2 difficulty settings!
* 44 Unique enemies to crush before you!
* 15 Intense boss fights!
* A huge world to explore, with secrets and surprises at every turn!
* and over 4 years in the making, so you know it is DAMN good!
Unique character advancement system through player efficiency and teamwork:
* 54 Unique Skills, with 30 Spells and 4 Soul Charges (group special moves)!
* Gain Character Points (CP) to further advance your hero!
* Replay chapters to get maximum CP!
Unique Inventory/Crafting system:
* Players hunt for ingredients to craft new items!
* Add gems to your items for extra customization!
* Sell and Gamble to your hearts content!
Unique and in-depth Artificial Intelligence:
* Enemies fight and travel in groups
* Enemies track and surround their targets
* Enemies may fight one another depending on their alliances or tendencies
* Enemies may block (or even flee from battle) if they become too disadvantaged
* Enemies will be more aggressive towards players with weak defenses
* Enemy leaders will call for help if they fear their opponents
Players and enemies are affected by the Tide Of Battle:
* Fight well and your group will receive damage and health bonuses!
* Fight poorly and your group will receive penalties to their abilities!
* The Tide Of Battle is dynamic, it changes as the battle changes!
* Maintain the full momentum of the fight to earn a Soul Charge!
The full game will launch in a couple weeks and the beta will probably also end then.

I hear you. I much prefer the NOA method of "Hey GAME!" and then a month later "Here you go!".
Tomb Raider had the cover of Game Informer about 4-5 months ago, so an E3 showing would be normal. Even so... I guess they are being responsible for not releasing in an Uncharted off-year.
I'm quoting myself, that's right bitches.
Because last night I saw Summer Wars, the new film by the same team that made The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. And it was awesome!
The reason I want to shout about it and post it here on the gaming news page, is because it's people like US that will understand and appreciate this film more than anyone else. Remember the PSN hack? That's in this movie but the concept is expanded. So this girl gets a friend to pose as her fiance at a family get together over summer. During the course of the stay the boy accidentely hacks into Oz whih is like PS Home only a massive, all encompassing worldwide online system that is like the infrastructure of the world. Unleashed is a demon AI that starts to f*** with everything, traffic lights, weather reports, fake emergeny calls etc.
Eventually it gets its hands on an account which it can use to launch nuclear weapons and it has a 2 hr timer. It comes down to the family working together, both in the real world and virtual world. The film is at times, hilarious, touching, racously entertaining, delightfully whimsical and punch your fist in the air great. The battle is on to recover the stolen online Oz accounts and the ending, well do you remember the end of Space Channel 5?
Also, at one point one of the older characters uses a DSi to enter Oz.
So much fun and I would reccomend buying the double pack bluray of both this film and the Girl Who leapt through time. When Satoshi Kon died I was worried about the state of Non-Ghibli animated movies but these two movies show that others are already there to plug the gaps whilst we wait for Otomo to make his once per decade great film.
Also the music is fantastic fun:
Penis.
MGS3 3DS still looks pretty good to me, though I never played the original so I can't use that for reference. Snake does look a lot worse than the character models from last year.
I'll get around to seeing the time leaping girl and summer wars eventually, GG!
Kojima's Fox engine
Wait... so is MGS collection just 2 and 3 with Peace walker sold separatly?
But then this pic has all 3 MGS games on one pack:
I've not played a Metal Gear game since the original was out on the NES (I think I played Snake's Revenge for about 5 minutes too). Maybe I'll finally break down and check out the series now that it'll be collected.
...no probably not.
They confirmed that the Japanese version has Peace Walker seperately, while the English version has all three games in the one pack.
Think the weird scenario with the ICO/Shadow re-releases.
Oh, weird.

Yeah, I know. Still, not complaining. I just hope that the remake of MGS3 fixes up some of the framerate issues.
Shiiiit, StarCraft II is much better than I had hoped for. I'm kind of frustrated that I never have enough credits to upgrade every single thing from the minute it's available, but I guess on harder difficulties the payoff will be bigger.
OMFG I'm all over the Metal Gear Collection! All over it!!!
Finally get to play the games on an Xbox controller, and finally get to play Peace Walker. Fucking sweet! It sucks that Twin Snakes isn't in the collection though....
