I know. Its easier to say fat and it makes for a funnier mental image.
They are wrong too. Do these people not know what is going on. Old PS3 will die, they will ALL die. And major games that push the limits of the PS3 make the system more vulnerableto dying. Every single Rockstar game does this, which is why every time a Rockstar game hits you have a huge number of people losing their system. It has nothing to do with an update and everything to do with the piece of shit hardware Sony put out.
NOW SUE THEM.
Gears. I'd say that was a pretty effective beta, eh?
Can you imagine sitting on a million pre-orders?
I wonder if it were multi-plat if it could compete (numbers wise) with COD. Personally, I like Gears way more than COD, but I don't know how most gamers go on that.
Gears, Gears, Gears! I'd take a game with cool ass characters that I actually care about, one that requires strategy to work my way through it and working together as a team over generic shooter number 128 any day.
Yeah its on my must buy list. It was a fun beta.
Epic was showing off their new engine a while back and had a new character in it... I forget what he was called... but that's likely their next IP. That's how they first revealed the Gears world. It was weird reading an old EGM the other day and seeing a screenshot from the tech demo of the old Unreal engine and having a caption that made no mention of Gears (because no one had any idea that the tech demo was anything more than just that).
I respect Epic a lot, but if they walk away from Gears after 3 and try something new (just as they did with Unreal Tournament) that puts them on them on a whole new level of respect.
EDIT:
Speaking of Gears. Only one guy made it to level 100. He's Peruvian and he's 100% deaf.

God that's beautiful. I'd love a poster of that, actually.
Here is something else Olly Moss has done:

You guys have any problem with this?
Chinese videogame targets US troops
"Glorious Mission"
A first-person-shooter video game, developed by China’s Giant Network Technology Co. and backed by the People’s Liberation Army.
...
“The game itself looks pretty well-made,” one blogger commented. “Graphics definitely on par with at least the [Call of Duty] series.”
But there’s one key difference between the American and Chinese “shooters.” Where the bad guys in America’s Army are generic Middle Eastern or Central Asian insurgents and terrorists, the enemy in Glorious Mission is apparently the U.S. military. A TV report offers glimpses of an American-made Apache gunship crashing in flames.
Looks better than Black Ops.
Graphically on par with CoD? No way.
Well then its a perfect fit for the franchise...because the franchise is comprised of bland first person shooters.

Noire overheating issue hits Xbox 360
Sony says PS3 firmware is not to blame; Rockstar hints at possible fault with game
Echoing off the record comments made to MCV, a Sony spokesperson has told Edge that the PS3 3.61 firmware is categorically not to blame for the LA Noire overheating issues.
In fact, the spokesperson added that the problem has now spread to Xbox 360 consoles.
"As with the release of any System Update, we will invariably see a very small number of users whose console has failed following updating their console, which is an unfortunate coincidence" Sony stated.
"Rockstar have now updated their FAQ on the matter, have admitted that it is a fault with their latest title LA Noire and have offered a work around. It should also be noted that the issue with this title is not PS3 specific and is also affecting other consoles."
Rockstar Customer Support is now advising any users experiencing problems to delete their game data (not their save data) from their PS3 or clear their cache on Xbox 360.
The Witcher 2 is amazing.
That is all I logged on here to post.

PRE, from everything I've read, it sounds like CDPR made the combat really difficult and didn't provide adequate tutorials.
I'd play the game, but the artifacting caused by my again-faulty video card bothers my eyes to no end.
