But you cant control live action. Digital actors is the future, I love playing a game and seeing well known actors in the roles. In the trailers I see all sorts of actors like Denethor from LOTR (now Fringe), a bunch of people from Mad Men, etc. It will help gaming grow and be more accepted. There will come a day where games will star big time actors, you will have a game with Matt Damon and Natalie Portman in the leading roles. Obviously its not for all games but it will be great for the kinds of games Rockstar likes to make.
I'd like to play a role with Natalie Portman. Preferrably something in adult film.
Fatal Frame guy working on Cafe game that will never come to the US....I'm so excited!
Just finished Red Dead Redemption and I've concluded there are two things I really hate:
1. Small text in games. What's up with this? It seems to be a growing trend for developers to have copy within the game that is so small you can barely read it.
2. People who write FAQs sheets and try to be funny. I'm reading one right now looking at trophies I missed, and the guy tries to make jokes throughout the whole damn thing. Not funny. Not even a little.
I'm not a fan of small text either. Try reading that shit when you're more than 8 feet from the tv screen....wtf.
Yeah I'm right there with you. At several points in the game I had to get my ass off the couch and walk up to the screen so that I could read instructions.
Yeah that text sucks, I have decent size TV too that I don't sit that far from. I just can't get into this game, I have tried a bunch of times. I just end up turning it off after an hour ..
I love nerds. I also love candy infused with nerds. There is a hollowed out bubble gum ball that has nerds inside. Nerds with (fake) ice-cream is also good.
Word over on The Magic Box has Sony announcing a God of War Portable Collection slated to land on the Asian market July 7. The collections is said to include God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta with enhanced graphics specifically for PS3. Yes, it says it is coming to PS3.

Is it true that Chrono Trigger is coming to the Virtual Console in a few days? I never played the game and I somehow didn't bother with the DS version. I may consider it if it comes to VC

From all accounts this does appear to take it to a new level, with specially develpoed equipment and studios -- plus it's rolling out a unique game-play style, so that would account for the high expectations.
Performance capture was first used in Heavenly Sword, and was then later used in the Uncharted's (and was broadly acknowledged) but then Enslaved did it and no-one really made a big deal out of it. Maybe it's just not notable anymore.
As for why no-one talks about the graphics on a non-HD console? I figure it must have something to how it looks. I liked the characters in DSE, I thought they were exceptional, but I never would have guessed performance capture was used.

Indeed it is. If you are not THAT into JRPG's that may be the way to go as the DS version has a map that makes the game a lot more palatable (dare I say easier).
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 – Professional for NDS was once again the top software mover of the week, selling 43,886 units.
Patapon 3, which debuted in fourth place last week, moved up the chart to claim second.
There weren’t any new titles in the top 20 for the week, but thanks to the holiday in Japan last weekend, Constitution Memorial Day, sales in party titles and Nintendo offerings surged over the prior week. We’re assuming, that like in the US on Memorial Weekend, there were some nice sales going on.
Below is Media Create’s top 20 sales chart for the week ending May 8 2011. Last week’s figures can be found here.
Software top 20 chart offerings per system:
Nintendo’s DS hardware does the business
PSP continued its reign at the top of the hardware charts this week, moving 54,882 units despite a significant drop over last week, when it moved 76,974 units. PSPgo manged to move seven units more over last week, and PS3 and extra 1,006 units over last week’s 23,954 units.
3DS sales this week were down a few hundred over the week prior, but its other family members saw number grow over last week. DSiXL moved an extra 1,284 units for the week, and DSi moved 1,124 more units compared to last week. DS Lite sales were rather flat, with the aging system moving 30 units more than the prior period.
Wii sales were a bit flat as well, as the console moved an extra 631 units over last week’s 10,889 units.
Xbox 360 sales were down 663 units for the week, and PS2 managed to moved 114 units more than last week.
All-in-all, nothing spectacular happened on the charts this week.

PSN update 3.62 is available. You still can't go online yet, though.
Thanks for the heads up. After seeing your post I tried logging in. In this region we are gettin 3.61.
Kinda funny that the 3.60 firmware was the one that this fiasco occurred on. When I DL'd 3.60, I was like, "You'd think Sony would skip 360".
Ugh, typo. I meant 3.61.
OMG something is happening!!!!!
IT HAS BEGUN!!!
Of course I leave out of town tomorrow.
If it comes back on tonight, then the VGPressers will have to play Uncharted to celebrate. Nevermind, I'm sure you'll play MK or Portal.
