It definitely had great dungeons, really cool bosses, interesting items, a nice atmosphere, and it was lengthy! But...

1.The Wind Waker parts of the art style (namely, the short legs, especially those of bokoblins) looked too odd.

2. The difficulty was too low across the board.

3. Hyrule Field was huge, but barren as hell (it's more fun traversing Hyrule Field in OoT and Termina Field in Majora's Mask).

4. The animal interaction wasn't used enough.

5. The slingshot became 100% useless once you got the bow.

6. There wasn't enough interaction with children. That could have been a huge part of the story.

7. To my knowledge, there was no way to change day to night and night to day, which made looking for those 100 damn Poe souls the most frustrating part of the game. (I logged at least over 60 hours of play time in my primary save file by the time I sold the game, and I still hadn't found one or two Poe souls. At that point, I just gave up. The game world is huge and it would have taken forever, given how long you have to wait for nightfall.)

8. Instrument >>>>>>>>>>>> wolf howling.

9. Since the enemies were so easy to beat, the extra combat techniques were more for show than anything.

Did I love the game? Yes. Did it innovate and improve on many things in the OoT formula? Yes. But it fell short in so many areas it could easily have excelled in. Don't get me wrong -- it is an amazing game. It's just that it disappointed me.

I sold my Wii a while ago. Got the GameCube version of Twilight Princess last fall or so. However... I get a disc read error during the intro, or at least before I can start the game. It's weird. I can't tell if it's the disc or my GameCube. I've also had problems with Rebel Strike. Speculations? I'm thinkin' I'll just need to get another Wii one of these days. I'll need to get Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, and both Super Mario Galaxys (I had all of those except SMG2 before I sold it). I retain Metal Slug Anthology, Zack & Wiki, and RE4 (only the last of which I care much about).

What brought this. I still like MM the best and I give an edge to OoT for being first but TP is right up there.

3. There is still a bunch of stuff to find in Hyrule field and some areas were huge just for action segments, they werent made for exploring.

Whoever thought MK would not be the best selling game this month is an idiot! Its MORTAL KOMBAT, its back, its the king of all fighters again, feels so good! Suck it Street Fighter. Now all I need is for Sega to beat Nintendo at something and it will be perfect.

Portal 2 did fantastic as well not a shock but the 360 selling more kind of is. I expected it to be at least very close but it wasn't. Maybe the PSN thing had something to do with it but I doubt it as most sales are in the first two days.

The Wii is so dead, wow. The PS2 didn't go out like that. Guess that means PS2 keeps the title of best selling console ever. I am good with that.

I cannot wait to see the PS3 numbers next month, oh its going to be a blood bath.

You guys!  After thinking about it, I guess you are right.  There have been a lot of people (what am I saying here) MEN who have played some form of MK over the years, and the time was right for a full-on renaissance of the franchise, particularly one so critically lauded.
