So nobody else had any issues getting this site working the past few days?
No Edge you weren't alone. Yesterday or the day before I had some problems during the evening. For some reason I could get the into the forums, but just not the News section.
More BurgerTime Details
I forgot to comment on this yesterday, but man oh man does this even piss me off. They're turning the game into a damned platformer! There will be bosses now! A rocket pack? WTF!?!?!?!
I don't know who these developers are, Monkey Paw, but I got to say I have no faith in them after reading this interview. They've missed the point of the original game. Pac-Man CE worked because it took the core elements of the original game, sped it up, and mainly turned it into a time attack game. This... this is just going to be bad.
Oh good....I'm glad others endured this misery and I wasn't alone!
BTW guys Red Faction Armageddon demo up now.
A couple times this week, yeah.
Too bad that wasn't what he said. You need better news sources.
'He will also meet with families of the victims and first responders in private,' Carney said.
'He wants to meet with them and share with them this important and significant moment, a bitter-sweet moment, I think, for many families of the victims.'
Probably not a new game. I was thinking maybe an in-game URL, oike the ones in GTA:
"New Batman game coming? Domains registered for the Gotham Rogues"
Yeah i'm not surprised the guardian would do that, hence why I included the source. I don't really use it for news, more for light relief - if that. I mostly use BBC and CNN when it comes to news.

We only have two big newspaper companies down here and one of them just announced they would be firing all of their sub-editors and outsourcing it instead. This is what happens when you do that, it's so sad. Most newspapers here are 95% wire feeds, and now they are hacking the quality out of the locally produced stuff.

In other news....
id giving level editors and mod tools out of the gate for the PC version is AWESOME. It should dull some of the inevitable criticism they will get for releasing their next new franchise on the consoles simultaneously.

also, pimping my review of MOON.
I've been playing a lot of Mount & Blade: Warband as of lately. Actually, that's the only thing I've been playing at all. Warband is a standalone expansion to a PC open world, sandbox style RPG called Mount & Blade. I snagged it for 5 bucks during a steam sale in advance of the next expansion called Fire and Sword. It's really awesome, and I'm dead serious when I say it sports a sandbox-styled gameplay. Wanna rise to power the old fashioned way, commanding a wandering warband or rag-tag army, razing and pillaging villages and avoiding the long arm of the law? Go for it. Want to play goody two-shoes and go for the bandits instead, helping shit-smelling villages? That's doable too.
Don't feel like fighting and wanna try your luck at commerce instead? You can either trade goods and shit between cities, or invest in stores of various specialties all across the continent. There are tournaments, marriages, diplomatic alliances for you to knock yourself out whichever your mood might be on your way to becoming a king's vassal, and even better, the king himself. Combat system is quite deep for a game that could otherwise pass as a hack-and-slasher, and there are lots of different weapons to suit your taste. It's pretty rough, visually speaking, but that suits me even more since I can run it on my native res without compromising much.
The open nature of the game lends itself beatifully to a myriad tales of despair. especially if you, like me, stupidly choose a realistic saving system that pretty much turns every choice you make unchangeable, without the possibility of reloading to a prior save. My first experience after the tutorial was wandering on my own to experience the open world, only to be approached by a band of looters, eager for my money. They ask me for a "fee" to cross their turf, to which I promptly answer them to go fuck themselves, thinking I was some kind of battle god like in Oblivion. Haha, fat chance. The looters quickly kicked my ass, stole my sword and all of my money, and dragged me as a prisoner for a few days until I found the chance to escape. I reached some city without money or a sword, and tried my luck at a few jobs to make some cash and get back on my feet again.
My first job was given to me by the city guild master. I had to deliver a cattle herd to another city. Sweet pay, easy job, right? NO. As soon as I left the city the fucking cows started running towards the sea, and since my character had shitty tracking stats, the herd was quickly out of my sight. So I got back to the guildmaster to tell him about my monumental fuckup, thinking maybe he would give me another job more suited to my non-existant abilities. Turns out the guildmaster had to pay for the herd I lost, and now he wanted me to pay him ONE THOUSAND FUCKING DENARS for all the trouble. If I don't pay him, he'll start to change interest and now I can't get a job at that town.
Now instead of having some cash and a new sword, I was 1000 denars deep in debt and without a possibility of getting more jobs in that place. Fuck. So away I went.
A free demo of Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword is now available too.

In its continuing effort to make us re-purchase all of Electonic Arts' current-gen titles, Steam has cut the price of the whole Mass Effect franchise today as part of its EA Week promotion. For a limited time, the digital retailer's offering Mass Effect for $5.00, and its GOTY-winning sequel for $9.99.
Chinese "NGP":
"What you see above is in fact the iReadyGo RG. Boasting an NGP form factor and a decidedly Xbox 360 color scheme, the open source device supposedly packs a 1GHz processor, a 720p camera, HDMI output and support for a variety of video formats. Our cohorts at Engadget also report that the manufacturer is hiring Android developers, possibly indicating the final device will include Google's mobile OS."
I still want a Vii.
Holy shit, Heavy Rain just got crazy good. The convenience store attempted robbery and the scene afterwards were the best.
Today I finally brought Blur back to Blockbuster. Fun enough racer. It's very much like a grown up Mario Kart, but therein lies the problem. The later levels require a lot of skill to advance. Some real tricky moves, and frankly I want no part of that.
So I traded that in for Red Dead Redemption. Real fun game, though I've already got a bad taste in my mouth for one stupid incident. An old man was being chased by two other guys who were shooting at him. And since I was getting hit by the bullets naturally I fired back. Of course they were lawmen so now I've got a bounty on my head. WTF?? How the hell did that happen? Oh well, still fun. Can't wait for the kids to go to bed so I can get another hour in before bed.
^At least the gameplay has some consequence (re: RDR).
Yeah that's true. I have to admit I was a little concerned that it would just be GTA with horses, but I've pleasantly surprised that this is very much its own beast.
Hogtying people in RDR and then wandering off towards the sunset never got old. Especially when it was one of those whores that asked you for help so her outlaw friends could fuck you up.
As of last week I am officially OFF any GTA style game. I've burnt out. I thought I could hang with the open world Red Faction, and I was enjoying it... but it's such a grind (said the guy who is 23 hours into Draon Quest 6 -- I know, I know).
So you are saying RDR (so far) is not. A to B, A to C, A to D. stop. D to E, D to F, D to G. stop. and so on....?
Just like in real life.
Sigh.....Sony and their network problems.
Remember the good ol' days of Sega Dreamcast when you could play an amazing online game like Quake 3 Arena or Phantasy Star Online without fear of the servers being hacked or having to listen to idiots rapping into their microphones? *Edge begins to cry tears of joy*
