man leo that really bothers you but sony is only doing this because whining americans were demanding something in return for this and what else should sony give they can't give out free retail games or cash because they will lose lot of money but giving a free month to psn+ is one of the few things they can give that they wont lose money and they can try to apease the people that wanted something free
The thing is, I don't care about anything free; I just want PSN back up for multiplayer!
...but I still find how they are going about it distasteful!
i also could careless for free item i just want to get psn back for gaming and store but there were a lot of people that were demanding something free there is already a lot of fickel "gamers" wanting to abanden sony for this shit and sony most likely thought that if they didn't give something to people they would lose a lot more i can understand from sonys point of view and this was the only path they could take for the 75 million psn users that wouldn't cost sont million of dollars
You didn't get that wrong, it's how PlayStation Plus has been since it started really, nothing new there. The freebies remain freebies while you're subscribed only. So you can't sign up for a month get all the games and then not sign up again and still have them, when they're normally worth much more than a month's subscription. I'm not sure how they handle discounts though, I imagine you get to keep those rather than need to pay another 50% or something (lol) if you stop subscribing.
And lol @ people being mad that some want compensation for Sony's bullshit handling of the issue.

Sooo... Where's Travo...?
Whining Americans? Dude, why would you single out Americans on this? EVERYONE has been complaining about the PSN outage and asking for reimbursement. Besides this is Sony playing a PR game and nothing more. If it were nothing more than people wanting something free they'd happily blow it off but this is a much bigger deal. They've already got politicians from the US, UK, Canada, and Japan going on record and complaining about this and starting investigations - likely from more countries as well. They're getting negative press everywhere from bloggers to mainstream media. They're not trying to appease anyone by doing this. They're trying to put on a good face so that the PSN outage will stop getting more attention than the Royal Wedding.
Sony gave us exactly what we wanted. Everyone wanted something free and everyone knew the most logical thing Sony could give was PS+. I think they did exactly what they needed to do, just a week late. Is Stacking still a free PS+ game, cause I really want to play that and yes I can finish it in a month (days) no problem.
OH and I get Sonic 2 for free!! More than enough time to get all trophies for that.

The Sony situation: Ugh! I'm most pissed at the hackers who did this, but also at Sony for bumbling their way through this whole mess. I guess a month's worth of freee PSN+ is ok, as well as the free DL content. But what I really want is assurance that my info is not stolen....and tighter security. I think I finished changing the passwords of all sites and accounts that are linked to the PSN password, but who knows? One may have slipped through the cracks. Not to mention getting a new debit card and doing without my current one. It's incredibly hard to find time to withdraw money with my work hours. It pisses me off that I have to go through all this crap, while Sony sees an opportunity to make a quick buck out of this.
I'm pleased that Sony is doing something to alleviate the problem, but I'm not sure what would have been completely satifactory.

This is how I feel about the whole Sony situation: MEH. I just don't care because Sony's not my main source for online gaming and I don't even have a PS3 right now anyway.
I'm much more upset about the once again skyrocketing gas prices and these greedy oil corporations that nobody does anything about. I just put $50 worth of gas in my car to fill it up. Normally it costs me about $35. That's ridiculous. We're being robbed every day. At least in Sony's case we haven't been robbed YET.
i am extremely giddy that i realized that e3 is a bit over a month away and i'll be able to watch it with my bro thats coming into town i am so excited i can set someone on fire as i giggle
