Yeah I finished both Crysis 2 and Crysis, I had only played Warhead previously. I haven't played much else. I got back into Monster Hunter Tri a bit, the Streets of Rage Remake and now some Portal.

Having played the three Crysis games, do you get a sense of place in the Crysis world? Was it a unified experience?
Nope, 2 has little to do with the first couple, lots of things are very different. But I don't care about the story anyway. They were equally fun in somewhat different ways. Not the best shooters or anything in my opinion, both suffer from limitations they shouldn't have conformed to as their best moments are when they don't do that. I guess 2 is the most cinematic if that's what you want out of it. Some (not much) MGS-esque story telling.

Of course, I understand what you and Steel mean. You're saying in a perfect world, all things being equal if the same developer were to make the same game on different hardware of varying graphical levels, you would get different results, better results. I agree.
I guess people like me think less about this hypothetical world and look to what is actually happening in terms of released games, released hardware and comparisons you could make. I came to terms with what Wii could do in terms of visuals years ago, but there are still alot of people who have this wish about what everything could have been like, if only.
I'm more an acceptance guy. Otherwise I certainly wouldn't have bought a DS to play 3D games with N64 like graphics.
Anyway I need to get back to updating.
EDIT:
BTW in Lost why does it seem like Jack's dad knows everyone in the cast in some form? I just saw he was that aussie womans dad, which makes Jack and her half brothers and sisters and now Jack has a nephew on the island. WTF? Jacks dad has met who now? Anna Lucia or whatever she's called, Jack, Sawyer and now aussie woman. It's getting comedic now, I half expect the bathroom door to open in the hatch and Jacks dad to pop out.

No More Heroes Red Zone Hits PS3 With Move Support
Another HD version of the original No More Heroes, but with lots of extras.
Details have finally popped up on that mysterious No More Heroes Red Zone that appeared in Famitsu's table of contents this week. As some suspected, it's another version of the original No More Heroes, but it has lots of new features.
Here's a feature list:
CERO Z rating
PlayStation Move compatibility
Five bosses from No More Heroes 2
Ten missions that were not included in the Wii version
Boss battle mode and online ranking mode
A "forbidden view" mode and other bonuses for the first print run
The Z rating is a big deal for the PS3, as the PS3 version of No More Heroes Heroes' Paradise, the Feel Plus developed port of No More Heroes, was toned down for a more general rating. The Xbox 360 version of that game had a full Z rating.
It's not clear at present if this new PS3 version is based off the Feel Plus port. That version was widely panned for bugs and other problems.
Red Zone Edition will be released on July 21, priced ¥3,990.
Same NMH version as Konami announced for the US release. Just also releasing in Japan now.

I was pretty meh on it till:
1. I played 3DS and realised what 3D could bring to a game
2. I played 3DS and realised that this was the only adventure game coming to it for.... years?
3. I saw the comparison pics and understood that it had been revamped visually, a lot.
4. I realised that the only other games to choose from were Ridge Racer and Kid Icarus.
That Pandora's tower trailer, it has textures to rival Xenoblade and not in a good way. Game looks okay.
Time to round up the latest Wii 2 rumours.

Rumor Nuggets
http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2011/04/18/retro-studios-working-on-a-project-everyone-wants-us-to-do-on-wii-2/
Retro Studios working on “a project everyone wants us to do” on Wii 2.
[RECENT RETRO JOB POSTING: Retro is a state-of-the-art game development studio, working in conjunction with Nintendo to bring award-winning games to Nintendo's cutting-edge next-generation platforms.]
Retro Studios is hot off a four game win streak thanks to Donkey Kong Country Returns and the Metroid Prime trilogy, but according to them, what they’re working on for Wii’s successor is “a project everyone wants us to do”.
I spoke with two different people at the Austin, Texas based first party developer for Nintendo to see if I could get any more information on the “Wii 2″ which many are calling Project Cafe. Whatever the system’s name ends up being, my sources at Retro Studios said that their company was amongst the very first to receive a development kit and that they’ve been on board developing a new project ever since.
What could they be working on? Something that “everyone wants them to do” means one of two things to me. First off, it could be a new, ‘built from the ground up’ first person shooter…something that many gamers have been begging them to do. It makes sense and the way I see it, it would be the modern equivelant to what Perfect Dark was to Goldeneye 007 on the Nintendo 64.

PS3 ENGINEER WORKING ON Wii 2: NST WORKING ON TECH RELATED TO Wii 2?
It looks like Nintendo Technology Development, the Seattle based hardware group under Howard Cheng, has been quite busy researching and developing several of the technologies being used in Project Cafe. One of the more interesting features is their work on tracking systems and head-mounted stereoscopic displays along with CPU and GPU research and evaluation.
For those wondering what direction the system might take from a purely geometrical calculation standpoint. Some of the new team members at Nintendo Technology Development include one of the head engineers responsible for the PS3's Cell CPU and RSX GPU.
While the news is not indicative of the ultimate fire power the system may carry, it certainly is promising.
edit: listening to the IGN voicechat now, they say that their info isn't just some spurious rumour, its from developers with dev kits actually working on Wii 2 games right now. They also reiterate the "significantly more powerful than 360" quote again.
So Retro working on a title everyone wants them to? So here are your choices:
HD Zelda
HD Metroid
HD Original FPS
Which one do you want them to work on? Personally, not metroid. I love Zelda games but they take too long to make, TP released end of 2006 which means all of 07,08,09,10 and nearly half of 11 and we still don't have the new one. I would like Retro to work on the next Zelda now so it can release earlier than at the end of Wii 2's lifespan.
Zelda is better off staying in Japan. These series has consistantly been excellent and frankly I don't think it would be better served by giving it to Retro. I'd rather see them develop a new IP. They've done amazing work with other people's ideas, so let's let them run with ther own. Nintendo is overdue for a new IP anyway. Outside of the Wii branded games and Nintendogs it's been a long time since they've done something new.
Nintendo is thinking about launching Zelda: Skyward Sword around the same time as Wii 2 since Wii 2 is backwards compatible with Wii 1 games.
Damn this shit is getting exciting, isn't it? This might be the most exciting home console news since the Gamecube/Xbox days. I love new console rumors and news, especially when it sounds so damn good!
I think that guy in the one article hit it on the head with Retro; its either a mature 1st-person shooter, or a Zelda sequel. I'm leaning towards Zelda myself. Skyward Sword is coming at the end of the generation which means Nintendo would take AT LEAST until 2014 to release a new game. The best way to get a new Zelda game on their next console SOONER would be to have Retro Studios or a 3rd-party develop one. Having Retro working on a next-gen Zelda NOW, would mean we'd be getting a new Zelda much sooner with the added bonus of having Retro's touch and design choices on it....as well as allowing Nintendo EAD to work on a 2nd Project Cafe Zelda game later in the cycle. I've wanted Retro to do an original FPS for ages myself, and was perplexed that they did Donkey Kong instead (likely because Wii just wasn't the console to do one) but Zelda is the one game I'd love to see them do as much as Metroid.
I certainly hope they're not doing a new Metroid. Give that a rest.
I don't even know what this means anymore. Really, what would really be shocking about any software showing up on a Nintendo console?
Would Resident Evil be shocking? No. Metal Gear Solid? No. Final Fantasy? No. The only thing I can think of is Grand Theft Auto or some of the more PC style games like Elder Scrolls, which really wouldn't be that shocking either....its just where gaming is.
I don't mean for Nintendo Japan to give up on Zelda, I mean they both work on Zelda for double the Zelda fun on Wii 2. Well, at least for one game each.
I sort of wanted them to make a new FPS but they aren't really proven with AI or mechanics in the FPS field, they excel in level design. I would be more confident in seeing Eurocom's next Bond game.
Aside from Majora's Mask the gap between Zeldas is 4 years, so it would launch at the end of 2014 in the holiday period. Meanwhile they get someone else to port Wind Waker to 3DS.
I think Epic games software would be shocking. I know Mark Rein keeps saying when the tech is there we will be there, but I get the impression that they just aren't interested.
What I find interesting is how games like Red Dead Redemption, Assasins Creed and Dead Space were PS2 and Xbox games. How many other games long in gestation were brought over? I like hearing about cancelled games we never knew about before.
Also what about the controller? Do you want this suppossed GC controller with a screen in the middle? Do you want to keep wii controls? What about a combination of both with a break apart controller?
Well hopefully its not a Gamecube controller, exactly.
The Cube controller had the best shape and Analog STICK (as in, left stick) of any controller I've played, but the button layout, lack of buttons like left bumper and back button, and right stick were crappy. But yeah, I'd definitely go for a Gamecube-ish controller with dual analog and a crazy screen. Sounds fun. The machine will still obviously have to accept the Wii controller since its backwards compatible. Unless they do a software update that lets you play old games with the new controller?
Yeah I guess full-fledged support from typically PC/Xbox oriented shooter teams would be shocking, though the only team I'd really like to see work with Nintendo is Valve. As for Retro not being schooled in AI, remember GG many of the guys that formed Retro came from ID Software and the Turok team....can't get much more FPS than that. But yeah, I'd love to see Retro do both Zelda and an original FPS next-gen. I really think Zelda would be great in their hands....I could see them bringing back the darker vibe of Majora's Mask.
What do you guys want/expect out of the launch lineup/period? I think we'll see two games from Nintendo tops, the rest will be 3rd-party.
Why is it that every time someone does a Gamecube lock-up, they choose to use the ugliest version of the console/controller and not Platinum? Are we trying to scare people away here?
If they're trying to scare people...... it's working. *shudders*
With Retro I just think about the AI in the metroid games which is mostly zelda style. I think Retro could have a division which just makes dungeons for Zelda like metroid is one big dungeon, sorta. Then Nintendo could do the art and story as well as the overworld and let Retro do everything temple related. That might speed zelda up. I'm thinking that IF the Wii 2 controller has a screen and front facing camera on it then they will do some augmented reality stuff like 3DS which might be cool in horror games. You could have Fatal frame with ghosts in your living room.
As for launch games I pretty much assume that 3rd party wise, whatever releases on Wii 2 at launch will also be on 360 and PS3 too, so just versions of multiplats. So you could potentially have a lot launch games if its so easy to transfer 360 skus across.
As for Nintendo, yeah I guess you are thinking on the right lines, a token casual pill and a hardcore game pill. Two games I'm thinking.
Now here is a developer you wouldn't think would work on Wii 2. Free Radical though, er... Crytek UK now? That's a different matter.
You wouldn't have thought that they would have lowered their standards and made a PS3/360 game, though.
Crytek just sound like they're trying to convince people to use their engine more than anything else. And has any news been heard of Free Radical since they got bought? I think Crytek just bought them to use their console knowledge for Crysis 2.
