GG i don't know if you're still interested but i remember you telling me to look out for reasonable deals on modern warfare 2. i think this one is not too bad. I don't know how the hardened edition differs from the standard one but it seems not too bad a price:
http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/xbox-360/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-hardened-edition/10067352.html
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Because too many puzzles can be unhealthy and annoying.
Thoughts?
No I was looking for cheap prices on COD4 on 360 before reflex. I'll check this out though, thanks.
EDIT: Eh, still too high, I am looking to get Red Dead Redemption first. Hopefully treyarch will port MW2 to wii eventually.
THQ figures: PS3 least profitable Wii revenue accounts for more than the competition combined
THQ is struggling to stay afloat, with a most recent quarterly report putting the company in the red by $47 million. And the platform that is least helping it come back to profitability? Sadly, it's the PS3.
But not by much. In its sales numbers, THQ said PS3 games brought in a total of $12 million in revenue during the quarter. That accounts for approximately 15.5% of the company's entire gross income. Not a whole lot.
However, the Xbox 360 didn't really do that much better. THQ earned $14 million from 360 games that were sold, and the DS was just a scoche above that with $17 million.
That leaves the lion's share of the remaining $34 million to the Wii, although THQ does have a small mobile unit that pulled in $1.2 million over games downloaded on cell phones.
What THQ games are people buying? Darksiders, Wrestling and Red Faction? So their wii sales are mostly what? Kids titles?
DKC returns eruption trailer
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-eruption-donkey-kong/707131
This game is going to kick your ass. My hype is very low for this one. As long as its gifted to me for Christmas I'll take it, but damn I feel wary about getting this now. Those giant hammers are going to pound you to a pulp.
Wow, Yokota the musical maestro behind Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2's sweeping music almost quit the company and it wouldn't have been orchestral if it weren't for him.
Harsh, Iwata. Harsh

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileYou don't become the most profitable game company by being nice.
First dungeon in MM done and honestly it sucked ass. Much worse than I remember it, but I do remember that the dungeons do get better. The rest of the game is so stellar that it makes up for it, still can you imagine MM with 8 awesome dungeons, wow.
Where the hell is our Skyward Sword info, its been a long time since we had anything on that game.
Awesome post on gaf on why DKC is crappy.

EDIT: He gets killed in the comments.
Someone needs to speak the truth though.
I'm back having played Severn-how-do-u-spell-it snow level. Wow, best looking level on Wii? It's a very strong contender. And you then seamlesly go into the bunker which is a completely different design from the N64 game. It's damned cool. This game has gone from maybe it's good, to wow, it IS good. Great even sometimes.
I can probably say from what I have played so far that it is the best single player FPS I have played in a long time.
The snow level has an awesome scope but also lets you stealth about picking people off, very cool. Then inside the bunker there are some snipers with laser sights like in Halo 3. As I lined up a shot on one he turned his sights towards me and the laser caused lens flare just at the moment I shot him. Wow moment right there. And then there is a night vision part like COD4 which is cool, reminded me more of splinter cell because of the way you can sneak about.
Oh and the melee move with the nunchuk is the best melee move since Halo, it feels completely natural and works brilliantly. If there is some fool in your face a quick chop will butt the gun in his face, but that's only half the story. Because it's been performance captured it has a weight and motion to it that physically connects with you.
Then as the opening camera pan of the archives started my jaw hit the floor. As a Goldeneye fan just seeing the familiar tiling and wall paint sent a giddy shiver up my spine. The actual level wasn't as good as the facility, dam, snow level or bunker but it was great fun, showing that a game doesn't have to have open battlefields and huge scope to be a hugely enjoyable FPS.
Anyhow in the archives as you duck behind bookcases and they (and you) can shoot the books out of the cabinets
And just randomly I saw this statue and I wondered, hey I wonder if I melee that will it.... and yeah, it split into 4 under my fist and crumbled to the floor.
It just goes to show the little things, the attention to detail Eurocom have put in here.
Also the AI is pretty darn smart, as I advanced forward the guy in front of me did a little backwards hop, over the cover point and took up a new position.
This is not just a great Wii FPS. This is a great FPS, full stop. Loving it so far, apart from the club level. It has exceeded my expectations. Oh and headshots work perfectly and so do the controls once you've tweaked them. Ignore any grumbling you see in reviews, that's just the reviewer's folly.
The actual gameplay, if you ignore the level design and visuals, the actual gameplay outdoes COD, the balance between AI and health and weapons and stealth, it all just works and feels satisfying.
He's sort of right. I loved the game way back when.
Then I went and bought it on VC and replayed it. What the crap? It was like someone took a mallet to my balls.
I replayed DKC on VC, and had a great time with it.
I think I may have inadvertantly started some FPS control war on neogaf
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=411469&page=22
Yeah but maybe you like that sort of thing?
Rune Factory Oceans screens. They're from the PS3 version but I can't imagine the Wii version looking much, if any, different. It's hardly an AAA series budget wise and this doesn't look like top-tier Wii visuals either, it's similar but obviously lesser to Tales of Graces even (which isn't part of a huge budget series itself). Cool stuff though.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

I was well pleased to see Tom McShea review it on gamespot, as I've read enough of his stuff to value his opinion on games -- he gave it an 8.5.
I cannot emphasize enough the general anti-Nintendo slant gameinformer has had for many years. Gameinformer is very cosy with US developers and publishers, and the hook the magazine is known for is world exclusive covers. Almost all of their covers break news on a new game. As you can imagine Nintendo has never played ball with acess the way other publishers have (hell, half the time Reggie doesn;t even know what Nintendo Japan is doing). And equally obviously Nintendo does not buy advertising in magazines. So they get the no-friends trreatment.
I'm familiar with their biases, so I still find their magazine usefull to read.
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/11/06/disaster_report_4_date/
Disaster Report 4 coming out in Japan -- we westerners did not get the third one, hope we get the fourth -- since it supports Move, maybe Sony can off-set some marketing/publishing costs.
I can't belive GG has convinced me to buy Goldeneye.
