Silonconera story above about Wada. ARE THEY NUTS? Here is the opening line of the story:
"Ask a large number of enthusiast gamers what “Harvest Moon” is, and chances are, they won’t have a clue."
Broken ones.
FUCK YOU SILICONERA!!!! Everyone knows about Harvest Moon! EVERYONE!!! They just fail to realize how brilliant it is.
The interview is a must read, it's very interesting, but they have to be wrong about that. Then again, maybe my view of the gaming world and their knowledge of games has been skewed since I started hanging out here exclusively.
Probably "argued" rather than "attacked" and probably for making a bigger deal out of it than it was rather than simply saying "lower sales than before" as that's a fact easily backed up by the numbers released weekly so if you were actually attacked for it you could have just mentioned those instead of sit and take it...
Nintendo going third party confirmeded!
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't assume that everyone is a fanboy. When I said that Warning a Huge Podcast were discussing the death of third-party support for Nintendo in Japan, that is what I meant. Not that Nintendo was the next SEGA.
Strawman arguments are as weak as any falacy I guess, I don't know why I find them to be the cheapest -- maybe because they are the most overused in gaming circles.
I think anyone that would describe themselves as a gamer would know the name of the series, though it's fair to say they haven't played it. The audieince is more loyal than large though a few titles have moved over a half million copies. Still the series has been around over a decade and has at least 20 installments by now. I can't see how someone wouldn't at least recognize the name. Hell, there's 6 Harvest Moon games on the DS alone.
I do hope that Wada is able to either continue to develop the HM series with some flesh blood with Grasshopper or maybe even come up with some kind of new quirky sims. He's done some great games that people tend not to know about like Chulips (which is best described as Animal Crossing on acid with a lot more kissing). Would really like to see more of that kind of stuff.
Yeah, I have Chulip, I did not find out until this week that he was responsible for it.
That's funny you mention strawman arguments when it's the one type you used. Nowhere did I call you a fanboy, or imply you are one, nowhere did I say you claimed Nintendo is going the way of SEGA. As for that podcast discussion, I seem to remember responses being of the "they never had any real support" type, which is true. They can't lose what they never had so a podcast presenting it as if it's a new development that third parties don't develop Nintendo software when they rarely did, and still rarely do, naturally smells like flame bait/bias for some.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were making fun of me by saying "Nintendo is going third party confirmeded". I interpreted that as a straw man argument of me saying "Nintendo is the next SEGA" because SEGA is the most notable hardware manufacturer, who upon failing, went third party. You were saying *that I was saying Nintendo was going third party* -- how is that not a straw man argument?
This is a pointless way to communicate. And for the record that -1 was not from me.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileNo, no, no. Not that.
You've got it backwards: DMC with an Elder Scrolls battle system.
I might might get Red Steel 2 tomorrow. I can get it with motion plus at TRU for $20. I need motion plus for Zelda.
Hey look at that, Endless Ocean is $13 used at Gamefly... I'll pass for now.
^That sounds like a good deal to me. Metacritic 80 games for $20 with needed peripheral thrown in.
Hey Vader, is there a sale tomorrow or is it like a Rewards member deal?
I may pick it up at that price.
