I'm shocked you didn't also bring up how Dante looks uncannily like the lead visual designer for the game. EXACT FUCKING HAIRSTYLE AND FACE...well, more the former than the latter.
Can we also add Giant Bomb to the list? Referring to it as "The Dragon Ball story" isn't accurate IN THE SLIGHTEST.
It's a shame you don't like the company Aspro, because the game's actually quite good. Much better than Heavenly Sword.
Americans. That show barely released (if at all), over there.
I didn't see it when it was on TV. Bad excuse.
Leo, Bugs, best wishes.
GAF guy said about A Shadow's Tale/Lost in shadow:
"I picked up the import version earlier, as it is completely in english. Awesome, awesome game. This is basically ICO on the Wii. Anyone who loves ICO should run out and pick this up on day one."
On the last world in Jett Rocket, seems much better than the previous levels. I think that using waggle for some many things like butt stomps and dash attacks doesn't feel particularly good. One of the snow levels was too big, considering how slow you move around the level.
Otherwise, for the price this is a fun little throwback that will bring a smile to your face if you loved PS1 and N64 platformers. It has some nice ideas and some pinched from other games that work. It also has a typical N64 platformer camera system, which can sometimes be unwieldly.
It's a shame that they don't flesh out the mechanics of some of the neat toys and gadgets they have in the game. I hope there is a sequel, I would check it out. It gets a catious nod from me. It's okay.
First, Microsoft offers Points back after spending $30 in the Live Arcade... Just after I spent something like $200...
Now, Toys 'r Us is offering Buy 2 get 1 Free... a few short weeks after I spent a couple of hundred dollars on 10 Xbox 360 games...
CRRRRAAAAAAAAP ! ! !
...
You know...you're always welcome to be on one...
Yeah, a side scrolling platformer is totally exactly like Ico. What are the people who play this game on? Sheesh.
That's weird about Jett Rocket, most people thought the last world is the worst. Oh well, seems nice for the price but there are other games to get first, and I'll probably skip in FAST as well since it doesn't have online play. Hopefully they have enough fans to make them sell decently though, I wanna see more from them.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neither did I. Yet I bought the DVDs anyway.
No frakking way. The last world is the best.
Also I finally passed platform peril in DKC. What a freaking pain in the anus. I did it, and was happy. And then faced a vulture boss with magnetic coconuts. Seriously, if I bought this game today I would poop all over it. The rubber band homing missile armadillos are bad enough, but coconuts that defy the laws of physics is a step too far.
So I kicked on ESwat and finally beat the boss on the toxic purple goo levels.
I'm trying to clear my VC collection recentely. Played some Paper Mario N64. Unfortunately there is no proper level map and I saved mid-way through a dungeon and I can't remember where I'm going. Ack.
So I kick on Super Metroid, the clock save says I'm only 40 minutes in. So why I am facing Kraid? I don't even have a charge beam. Is this right?
Bastard, I JUST got my copy. Can't wait to play more after work.
Ugh. Then no.
I never played Ico but I hear some people don't like it. Vader hates it too right?
It's not that I hate it, per se. I'm just not too big on heavy environmental puzzles, and somehow my Yorda was a lot dumber than the average princess. Game's alright, I guess. Not something I'd care to replay, though.
I'm playing Icewind Dale, I've restarted like three times, I never played any D&D (other than trying this and Planescape Torment when I first got them years ago) but I think I finally got the basics and have been making some progress. Just figuring out if armor benefitted or hindered me took a while, lol. I think my Paladin is a bit gimped if I don't get to add more points to his dexterity soon but I should be okay, I'm playing on easy until I get familiar with the rules. Here are my characters and a few screens from the first area beyond the prologue.
The game holds up very well with the exception of the character sprites which are rather lame and don't reflect exactly what you're wearing either. The pathfinding can be a pain as well but overall it's very playable.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you were fortunate enough to play it BEFORE it was hyped it was an incredible game both in terms of it's art assets and the profundity of the story. It was very, very different in it's time.
I can't imagine someone playing it now (for the first time) and not being underwhelmed by it given the amount of praise that has been heaped on it.
