WTF is this shit? They're using that UK "Comedian" as a character model? Why?
Wat?
Cool, FlingSmash is coming with a Wii Remote with Motion Plus built in.
I might get it if it's the same size as a normal remote.
Or wait for the next bundle (Zelda?).

3. The wimpiest Wolverine
We're proud of our humorous images here at GamesRadar, but we swear we didn't make this one. We couldn't even claim to make something so ridiculous and making ridiculous jokes about games is our entire job.
Activision sponsored Edinburgh Zoo's Wolverine enclosure for a year on two conditions:
1) They change the Wolverine's name to "Logan"
2) Nobody tell Activision what wolverines really look like.
I'm dying here!
That image was taken at a God of War 3 launch party in Greece where journalists were asked to reach inside a real goat carcass and pull its entrails out
Do you remember this?
4. GAIARES
"Gaiares" wasn't a videogame, it was an attempt to exterminate nerds. Behold:
First they found the ultimate Nerd, Patient Zero of mullet-infection. Then they gave him a T-shirt emblazoned with an unpronounceable Japanese word, knowing full well that's what bullies sense instead of pheromones so they know who to wedgie. Honestly, this guy better hope he's asexual enough to reproduce by division because they're going to yank his underwear up so hard they cut him in two.
Unfortunately we’re concerned this ability to attract the interest of healthy male children in the playground may have backfired and accidentally created the ultimate pedophile.
There is no way he's not trying to lure children into that basement. The fuller hair, the still peachy-fuzzy 'tache, the game playing unattended in the background, the way he's holding out the gaming magazines as if the candy shop won't let him buy sweets anymore and how his entire quote is describing how everyone else thinks Gaiares is cool. Or possibly, just how much the Battletoads and Mickey Mouse think it’s cool. It’s not quite clear. At any rate, run away, kids.
Yeah, but I thought that was GoW2? It doesn't matter, but man...

Trackmania looks cool. I haven't bought a proper racing game since Burnout 2 and PGR 2. I rented Burnout 3 and Revenge.
It's not really "proper racing" but it's cool, you should get it, I think I will, since the port looks so well done with a slick interface and everything. Everyone uses the same car depending on the theme (there are different skins and stuff to choose) and then try to make the best lap. There are no car interactions like crashes and such, the others are ghosts, and you're able to just press - any time to restart your lap or A to go back to the last checkpoint even in the online mode (so you don't care who is ahead or behind you as you could be on your 10th try for the best lap and they could be in the first). Race mode has you trying for the best time, platform mode has you try to complete a lap with the least A button resets possible (it's tricky tracks with constant points you fall off etc) and puzzle mode is basically the track editor with a half-done track and a limited amount of track pieces to put in that will allow you to complete a lap. Then each mode starts locked or with just a few tracks, and you spend credits you earn by getting medals in races to unlock more tracks, modes, car skins, and pieces to use in the track editor. And there's 6-player concurrent online and online leaderboards. I don't know if you can freely share your tracks or can only share with friends but there are at least some developer-made new tracks to download from the very beginning. The actual racing is like arcade + sim, the cars only have break and gas but each theme's car handles differently.
You can try getting Trackmania Nations Forever on PC for a sample, it's a free version of the game with only one theme and car but still lots of tracks and a big community for custom stuff if you get into that. It's not really a demo, you can almost consider it a full game, and then the retail releases as sequels with more stuff on top. The latest you can buy on PC is Trackmania United Forever, it's a bit cheaper than the Wii version on Steam but Amazon (.com at least, it's unavailable or used on co.uk) lists the retail version more expensive than the Wii game. That PC game has one extra theme that they didn't port to Wii though. It's an old series but it hasn't lost its value or anything yet (unless you find old forgotten boxes of course, like any game), and the Wii release seems cheap too.
Hopefully the Wii version gets some dedicated track creators to make some of the crazy stuff seen on PC.
As crazy as it looks, you just press gas, no other input, like automatic Mario stuff. Though again this is only if the Wii release allows track sharing with not just friends, I'm not sure yet. It's a bummer and it loses a lot of the appeal if you can't just find user uploaded tracks separated by popularity or whatever to play and make the best time on so the competitive factor is restricted to the official stuff, but still worth it after a discount maybe.

Just confirmed from people who have it that you can't share tracks with anyone but friends so that makes it lose points imo, waiting for discount. That's really lame because the interface and everything is there, they had no reason to restrict it like this, it should have been like Boom Blox Bash Party instead...
