Let's take a look at two different methods of approaching a conflict. Scenario: Your favourite flavour of ice cream is no longer shown at a parlour you frequent. Do you,
a) Berate the shopkeeper, call his changes a stupid waste of time
or
b) Ask if there's a way to still get that flavour or if he could stock in again in the future
I know, it's these kind of dilemmas that will keep you up at night.

I still don't understand why they don't port this type of game (like this one, Peace Walker and the new PSP Kingdom Hearts) to Wii... The shooting elements and camera movement in general would be so much better (by use of the pointer, or even the classic controller given PSP's handicap), and they have higher production values than most Wii games so they'd still look better than most despite being made for a much weaker system... Look at the character modeling, how good the faces are, and how the textures on their clothes convey a slick and shiny look by the art alone, despite probably being super low res due to the PSP's limited ram.
They probably wouldn't sell that much as ports from inferior/mobile platforms don't tend to do so good (I think) but surely more than enough to justify the minimal cost of a port, since it could be quick and sloppy but still appear smooth and solid considering the difference in power, as long as the controls were done well. Meh.

The guys at WayForward are starting up the Shantae: Risky's Revenge hype machine. They've already had a trailer and some screens, but now they've opened up an official Twitter account. Lucky for us, the account already has some information on the upcoming title.
Sorry, no solid date just yet, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as the guys at @WayForwardTech are ready.
As you can see, the Twitter account is being run as if Shantae were the one writing the messages. I'll take my Shantae anyway I can get her, so this is fine with me!

So hey, not being a dick or anything, I'm curious. I now Nintendo Power and Phil Theobald are staunch Shantae enthusiasts -- what's the appeal? It's a 2-D side scroller with a female Alladin yeah?
No idea. I never played a Shantae game. I posted this for ASK. I tried to post it in the news, but it's not working right now.
Maybe ASK can fill us in. I know I've been enthusiastic about games that didn't come out for a long time and then finally did (like The Red Star and Radio Allergy) so maybe that's the appeal.

Finally we get some kind of word from WayForward.
Well, the original Gameboy Color game is very rare now. I think an original copy on Ebay runs about $300-500! No joke! Pretty crazy.
I never played the original game but the sequel got me interested, not only because it's the sequel to such a rare game, but the 2D artwork and design by WayForward looks amazing.
Also, it's supposed to be played like a MetroVania game, I think, with multiple triple layered stages. It's also supposed to be a trilogy with each episode going at 4hrs, according to Nintendo Power.
But the biggest reason why I'm looking forward to the game? It's because I want a good reason to own a DSi since this is a DSiWare game. So far, I'm sad to say I've been disappointed with the DSiWare, but Shantae could change all that and make it worthwhile. Which is why this is one of my most anticipated games, just because it'll finally give my DSi something really good.
