I am not ass, it is just a pain. This isn't sword slashing in Zelda where the action is sort of on/off, there doesn't need to be any nuance to it. With jumping it is all about precision, it's all about timing and flicking the wiimote does not allow the same level of control as a button press. But its not just that, I don't like how bouncing off the walls is handled, its sticky and de blob jumps in strange directions, partly due to the camera. The lock on will many times lock on to what you don't want to lock onto. In a platformer you should not be relying on those things, does Mario need a lock on, no.

No you! You are ass. The flicking in De Blob is very accurate, there are no instant deaths and deadly pitfalls because this is an open world platformer like GTA where you can jump but never really fall and die. The direction of your jump is handled by the analog stick. De Blob bounces off the walls at the opposite angle of where he is positioned and you use the analog stick to direct his jump.

The lock on works fine for jumping, say there is a paint canister you are aiming for. It's less precise for enemies, but enemies are a pushover, you can jump and destroy them randomly and you almost always fight them on the ground in a wide, flat, open area.

De Blob controls how it should, you are a ball of paint and you roll about and bounce off things like a sticky ball would. De Blob does not have tiny arms and legs and feet for mario gymnastics. De blob is a ball of paint with the momentum and turning and stickiness of a ball. And the more paint you collect, the heavier you become and the slower and more heavy you get for jumping and moving.

Practice makes perfect.
