So yeah, picked up RDR today. It's as good as you'd think it is. It feels a lot like GTA IV (except when you're riding a horse, which turns just as well as your character does), but it does it's damndest to feel completely different. Mainly because unlike GTA, there's quite a bit more to do and it all has its place within the game.

Haven't played too much of it (around 2 hours or so), but it's good so far.

I was playing GTA Lost and the Damned last night.

On the last mission and a truck that I was hiding behind starts billowing fire out the side. Johnny caught fire and started rolling about on the ground as his jacket was on fire. I wanted to run away from the burning truck because, as ever it was about to explode. But Johhny was too caught up in his rolling fire animation to respond to my controller inputs. I had to wait around for nearly 10 seconds and then the van exploded and I died. Frakking GTA!

First time it's ever happened to me. Was this caught on fire animation part of GTAIV?

Then on the final mission I cleared out the prison yard of all enemies which was the objective. And then Terry and Clay were standing there doing nothing. And no new objective came up. No enemies, no gameplay. I ran about seeing if I could get into a building but no luck. The game said "Get back to terry and clay" so I did that. Stood around. Still nothing happens. Minutes go by, I get impatient and start looking around for my next objective or target. Nothing.

So then the game flashes up this message "You abandoned Terry and Clay", the screen fades and I'm warped back to the safehouse and have to start the mission from scractch.

Do they even playtest games these days?

I e-mailed them again asking wtf is going on and they said that (what a coincidence!) just today they tried the Wii on a 29" CRT and found no isssue, and that their NEXT step is to try it with the specific game(s) I mentioned show the issue. And to fax them the receipt, as if I have it after 3 years, when it's out of warranty anyway. So I responded with that, also telling them in which part exactly the issue becomes prominent in RE4 Wii Edition (showing them this video, saying my problem shows up at the area seen in 2:20 or so, and that it looks like the problem in this video but much less obvious with mostly small green pixels in a part of the screen rather than big green and red stuff all over it). And to just tell me what Nintendo's standard major repair fee is for out of warranty stuff or whatever they end up finding.

I also e-mailed NoE (I think, might have just been UK, but they're the main, right?) complaining about NoG :/

 Is there such thing as Nintendo of Greece or is it bloody Nortec?  You won't get anything from them, I'm afraid.

About receipts.  I keep all of mine.  The problem is they are all printed on thermal paper and everything fades out completely after a couple of years they just look like white bits of paper.

Like Motorstorm Pacific Rift. The first one got 9s and Pacific Rift got 8s, but EVERY review says that Pacific Rift blows the first one out of the water!

 Speaking for me, sequels just can't have the same impact as the original, so that's good for a point at least.  But there are trend-breakers -- like Uncharted 2.

Did you guys hear what Gamestop said?

Wii is out of stock 50% of the time and PS3 is out of stock 80% of the time.
