It's just GC graphics at a higher resolution. But it just goes to show how awesome that game could look. Especially when it used lighting and fire. Remember that awesome lava room?
This is cool
This is interesting. It's the first postive review I've read of the VDigi Wii 1080p upscaler. They also have videos there to show how it looks.
Note: RGB scart is the Euro equivalent of Component cables, only interlaced, not progressive.
I use the Coosis 720p upscaler with Wii via components, works pretty well, especially when you put your HDTV into 4:3 ratio.
I think if you've never used an upscaler before you have to temper your expectations as that VDigi review says. It won't turn your starndard wii game into a crisp and clean delight. But it does noticibly improve the picture quality.
Sharper, cleaner, more vivid colours. Less jaggies etc. Improvements are marginal though, maybe gives you a picture that's 15-20% better. Really it depends on the game as well.
It really depends on how bad your TV scales a 480p input. The good thing is that if you use an external scaler you can apply your TV effects on top of that, so it's not External scaler vs TV scaler, it's both combined to give you a better picture.
At least the main character's face is OK enough.

Also, I'm keeping my eyes on Black Ops right now. I may snag it if the reviews are good. Treyarch's been pretty good with DLC being fairly priced, but I won't be surprised if Activision makes Black Ops DLCs also at $15.
Just thinking about MW2 DLC map packs makes me cringe. Both of them is $30 total, for only 6 new maps and 4 recycled ones.
$30 is way too much for 6 new measly maps. It's the same price as getting...

Just thinking about that makes me hate Activision so much.Oh and snagged Sky Crawlers for $9.99 at Gamestop! It's on sale for that much this week. Hope this anyone who hasn't picked this up yet but always wanted to!

I was contemplating earlier this week if I should get this or not. I may pick it up even at the high $60 price. For some reason, I'm itching to play something fun and exciting, and this looks like it'll hit the spot.
