It's a fake pic. Check GG's post #306.
I've never cared for that series.
I've been bamboozled! NSMBWii is on it's way to my house. I'm still going to give Sunshine a go, but you are correct, I'm never ever enjoyed 3d platformers. But then I've also tried some new genres this year and overcome prior biases, so it's worth trying.

Chinatown Wars is under $20 (PSP) on US Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=vg_nav_hp_dotd/184-3205975-5836908?ie=UTF8&docId=1000208101&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=browse&pf_rd_r=0S4ZWA24KRZWQMXN1B5V&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=493797071&pf_rd_i=468642
Yeah, he bet former game critic N'gai Croal that if the PSP sold 10 million units in the first 6 months he'd wear dreads for a month (even at E3) -- N'gai is notable mostly for his dreads. If the PSP did not sell that many units N'gai agreed to shave his head, fortunately for him Jallard lost.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileWell there are some pure platforming levels in Sunshine that are pure awesome. They actually take away your backpack and you have to solely rely on your platforming skills.
Whatever you do, stay the fuck away from Rare platformers. They are 10 times the collecthatons, you will hate it.
Nope. Never heard of it before. Reminds me of a Cadbury Creme Egg.
Yummy!
Gimme Donkey Kong 64 on VC, dammit!
I liked Rare platformers, but I understand why Aspro does not like 3d platformers.
The reason why I like Galaxy more than Sunshine, is because the more linear design makes the platforming better. The old 3D platformers hardly had any challenging levels, they usually were just big sandboxes. If you fell down, you would not die and just had to climb up again.
My favourite design is the SMW design. Linear levels with lots of secrets. If you want to finish you can, but if you explore you will find extra life, coins or perhaps even a secret exit. Explorations is better left to Metroid and Zelda games.
Good platforming, to me, is about navigating through a course. Sometimes you have to overcome puzzles, but more often then not you have to overcome physical barriers like traps, chasms, destructible environments.
Doing those things in 3D (particularly if you are also having to control the camera) is not enjoyable to me. The isometric Sonic released for the SEGA CD was the first to demonstrate this, and it had the benefit of a fixed camera.
I do not enjoy collecting in any for of game if it is a requirement. If it's optional I don't mind as much. In SM64 and SMG I did not even notice it, but DK64 and Jak and Daxter made me Hulk-angry with all the collecting that was required.
Also, Iga, your summary above of SMG is brilliant -- it explains the appeal of the game to me.
"Microsoft seeks patent for shaming fat people" Should go over well in Japan.
'An undesirable body weight could be reflected in an overweight or underweight appearance for the avatar. Only requisite health levels are allowed to compete in a certain competition level. A dedicated gamer could exercise for a period of time until his health indicator gadget shows a sufficiently high health/health credit in order to allow reentering the avatar environment.'
Cause it's $50.
This sounds like Wii Fit.
PSN Premium service details?
Kotaku is saying that got some internal survey that may reveal new features and plans for the PSN premium service.
http://kotaku.com/5429592/survey-sony-considering-premium-playstation-network-subscriptions
Features include:
Token Wagering
Cloud Storage Space
Free access to Betas
Free access to Psone classics, Minis, wallpapers and themes
Full title trial- 1hour is free for new games released on PSN
Discount of store content
Extended console warranty
Loyalty Reward Program
Cross Game Chat
This proposes different packages with different groups of features, more features are in higher is the price (from 24.99$ up to 69.99$ a year).
Woah, thats a lot of stuff and all new stuff as well. Remember everything we have now is still free, there is no charge to play online. While odds are I will wont be getting this there are some options that are very interesting. Free access to PS1 games is one, how awesome is that. That is how I wanted the VC to be, a monthy service that you pay but get unlimited access to all games. Token wagering is described as a set number of tokens given to subscribers per month that can be used to be on games and exchanged for PSN content. So we can gamble PSN money or something? Extended warranty, what basterds. Cloud storage allows you to save games online, but the problem is installs not game saving.
And of course cross game chat which is a major feature of Live. I don't care much for it as I wouldnt want to talk to you if you were playing a different game anyway, but I know some love this idea.
Very interesting set of options, again this is just a survey.
Haven't had one of those in years. Kinder Surprises are awesome.
And it's a third party game on the Wii aimed at serious gamers.
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThey expect people to pay for that crap?
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileHah. Can't say that I wasn't expecting that.
Principally maybe, but practically there is difference between having creme and a toy inside a confectionary.
Fixed.
Also, Crystal Bearers was four years in the making but it's getting very poor scores right now. I know some people are enjoying it and I probably will too since I need more JRPGs on my Wii...but that's still disappointing.
Square-Enix aren't the best like Wada thought they were. Reality check for sure.
