Wii Sports Resort has achievements pumpkin!
Casuals will ignore it. This is a for teh hardcorez!
So does Metroid Prime 3. Wii need achievements across all Wii games, though!
And Melee had trophies and achievements too. Heck if you completed SMW 100% you got a star on your save file. SMG, SM64 and SMS you got a thank you message from Nintendo. Super Mario Bros Wii you get various stars. That is nice, but getting an achievement for passing an area you have to pass anyway is retarded. Not all games need achievement, if you want to put them in do so, but do it well. But if don't want to do it, don't, do not make a game with crap achievements. And what the fuck is up with achievements? Back in the old day you made your own achievements. Fucking kids these days.
I love pumpkin pie!

There are two formats to the news section: rolling and archival. Viewing the news feature directly, you'll see the standard rolling structure. By clicking to view a specific comment, by necessity to properly direct you, the page is displayed in archival format. Pages in the archive will have a timestamp in the URL.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI agree with you on the lame achievements. I only want good, challenging achievements, not what can be done through normal play. The thing is, even though those Wii games have some form of achievements, there's no way for your friends to see them without coming to your house or just taking your word for it.
That's the thing -- with the 360 achievements, all I ever hear about are points. Oh you got 680 points in this game, or this one's an easy 1000 points, or I have 35000 points. What's the point?
For "achievements" if you're going to call them that, the interest from my end has nothing to do with completism, but challenge. It's somewhat like a bonus level. I think having an integrated system is detrimental to this approach.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI only like the achievement part of Microsoft's Achievements (i.e. getting a score of 500K or higher in Pac-man C.E. within 5 minutes or beating Perfect Dark Zero on Dark Agent difficulty). Yeah, I don't like their "Gamerscore" system at all. I'd prefer having an integrated system that would allow your friends to bring up a list of every achievement goal you've completed for each game, not just a bland numerical score.
Ah, I see. How come the news posts GG posted today were only showing up in the archival view, and not the normal rolling view? They're showing up now, but earlier they weren't.
A bug an update. There are now only 5 days shown in the rolling week instead of 6 for style and readability reasons; and since I did the update at 3:00am, the day had rolled over without any new news, so it wasn't affected until today.
