Ubisoft:
When asked why these two games were being delayed, Guillemot explained, "The changes on Splinter Cell and Red Steel – it's just a question of polish. The team was asking that they couldn't be with the level of quality on all the maps and all the game for the end of the year, so they had asked for more time to be able to come with a better product, for both of those games. The quality of the games is there for what you've been able to see at E3, but we were not able to have that same quality on the full game of those two products."
Of course, in a conference call full of analysts and investors, the tiny matter of lost sales came up. Guillemot admitted that, for "those two products, it's around a million units" of lost sales in the first month. However, when faced with releasing subpar titles or losing a stronger opening month, Guillemot came down strongly in favor of the latter. "We really think with the level of quality that we'll be able to obtain with the time we give them we will have a long shelf life for those products," he explained. "Now, because [Conviction and Red Steel 2] are launching during that quarter, they will not do as many units for the first month as they would have done in November/December, but we think that on the long-term they can achieve more units than what they would've done."
And it sounds like Ubisoft's patient partner for the still Xbox 360-exclusive Conviction – that would be Microsoft – doesn't mind waiting another couple months. Guillemot says, "We still have the full support of Microsoft because they know that if we can bring a very high-quality game this will help their machine. So we still have the full support from them." And if they deliver a quality game, they'll have the support of gamers as well. Your move, Ubi.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shit
Just watched the Rhythm Heaven soundtrack promo video. I am buying that CD.
I wouldn't mind the DVD either if they have one. Too many Japanese schoolgirls though.
Yeah, I tried to get into it and I actually did manage to get up to the girl's chapters, but the gameplay is just so broken that I couldn't keep going. Its too bad cause like I said it has a great setting and good story ideas for a great stealth game, but its just not great.

Ubisoft DS sales slumpCompany blames piracy, Iga blames shitty games!
Yeah that's more like it!
What's the main problem? Tank like controls?
Most reviews say that its the best game in the series for quite some time.
watched it too ... i was just going to say, can't have too many japanese schoolgirls!!

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
There must have been 30 in that one clip. That's crazy.
You know as a portable experience Rhythm Heaven to me should be like a tetris or pokemon phenom. It's so easy to get into, yet so addictive and challenging to master, its the kind of game I feel like everyone would enjoy.
What is that video footage from? Do they have a dvd of that? I still want to buy the Ghibli concert dvd but its £32
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/japanese-great-monster-hunter/53377
it doesn't have the "never ending keep getting faster but you can always improve your high-score theoretically" hook of tetris, or the "gotta catch em all" hook of pokemon. once you perfect a song you only can only keep playing it for fun (which is a good thing still)... and there are things to collect but they aren't so compelling. in my opinion ... it's a great game, but it's not as good as ouendan 1 and 2. i sort of regret not getting the japanese version of it

Most reviews hate it so I'm suprised to hear that. I just watched the gametrailers review. Cycling looks crap. The air sections look fun, really Piolitwings has to happen now, especially if they want to use this Wuhu island concept.
But can you perfect every song? Can you get S ranks on every guitar game? Thats the addiction as well as just having fun with it all. Its been stuck in my DS for weeks now, its so easy to boot up and play.
that mario 3v3 for DS wasn't all that great was it? maybe they learned

i am so pleasantly surprised by the DS game. so much more to it than new super mario bros (and i loved that game). i don't care if artoon is a b-team for nintendo, that is a great game

Cycling is also fun. It takes a little strategy figuring out when to casually pedal, when to drift, and when to take it as fast as you can without tiring out.
I've been impressed with every game, except canoeing. It's much too difficult. That game is a little better suited for co-op. The skydiving bit could be fleshed out more too. Once you open your parachute, the game is over. I want to be able to control that too, maybe aim for targets. I can't believe Nintendo didn't put that in. There's always Pilotwings. Could you imagine using a jetpack with the nunchuk and Wiimote?
