"You know it! Wii HD is comin' very soon! I's forseen its!"
Why would you block the bubble bath pics?
SMG HD looks pretty crap to me. I dunno how to describe it but it just looks sort of washed out.
Nothing now, they should have made the Wii HD compatable.
Steel don't be lazy and make an universe thread now!
I will not make the best thread ever if you do not make the universe thread first!
Yeah I watched it too, missed the beginning before Stevie Wonder. I expected it to just be people talking and crying but they put on some great musical acts too. Very fitting and........ entertaining?
That's what some of the GAF guys said. CRT HDTV works better.
Did the updates
There are some tasty new monster hunter 3 screens and for some reason 10 tonnes of new Ubisoft previews.
IGN Dawn of Discovery review:
Dawn of Discovery from Ubisoft has managed to accomplish what very few other games can claim to, specifically bringing a deep, rewarding strategy simulator to home consoles. By streamlining core gameplay mechanics and introducing a surprisingly stylized and vibrant art style, developers Keen Entertainment and Blue Byte Software have crafted what could be the next big sleeper hit for Nintendo's home console. Sure, some of the artificial restrictions placed upon players can be frustrating and the single-player Story Mode is really more of ten-hour tutorial, but these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things. If you've ever enjoyed a city-building simulation in the past or even considered checking one out, Dawn of Discovery is your ticket to the latest and greatest the genre has to offer.
Its kind of entertaining, but the game feels so dated. The story is cool in a cheesy way and kept me going for awhile but I never beat it and traded it in. There's plenty of better games to get with the money.
Guess I'll wait till it's £9.99 then.
So the Hudson Wii Survival horror game was real.
Remember the one with the videos that people thought was fake?
VIDEO
- Survival horror
- use an in-game cell phone to send/receive texts, take video, record audio
- 70% complete
- Characters: mystery girl, mysterious old man, trio of high school girls
I'm starting to feel that the Ask Capcom board is useless. You see I took it upon myself to actually ask some half decent questions for some half decent answers and this is what I got in reply from Capcom:
Will Monster Hunter 3 use Wii Speak?
Q: If the Japanese version doesn't have the feature would be feasible to include it for the western release?
Q: When is the western release BTW? Do you have a general timeframe?
Q: Also is the game going to be pay to play in the West?
A: It's still not officially announced for the West... stay tuned.
A: These Japanese version is finished and I know the answers. I'm just not allowed to share them because it's for a Japanese product shipping in Japan. They're responsible for all communications on this product to this point.
Does Zack and Wiki have a future and what form would that take?
Q: Have there been any internal disccussions about continuing this game and making it into a series?
Q: Have you thought about making it a strictly DLC episodic game, in segments? Cross platform of course for profitability?
Q: Is there a genuine desire at Capcom to make more Zack and Wiki games?
Q: If you could do it all again, what would you have done differently from the first game? In terms of design, art, business and marketing?
A: Sleeping.
Would you trust Cavia in making an original Re4 type game?
A friend of mine is a RE fan, he actually does some writing for Biohaze. A few other people I know were sceptical about Darkside Chronicles. After the latest trailer and screenshots we're mostly all in agreement that the game sports some of the best visuals on the system, even if we are still skeptical about the on rails nature of the game.
It looks right on song visually for a RE game, even more so than the more realistic REs like Zero or 5.
Q: Are you happy with your relationship with Cavia?
Q: In terms of development resources, what is the comparison between Cavia making this game on rails vs a RE4 type game?
Q: If similar would you ever entrust the company to make an original RE4 game in the RE cannon? Regardless of system?
Q: What are your sales expectations for Darkside Chronicles?
Q. If the game is as successful or moreso than the first game, would you make a 3rd on rails RE game or move onto the Re4 type game, gamers have been clamouring for?
Q. Can you envision a situation where the RE5 team makes their next game and Cavia makes a completely different game simultaneously using the same style?
Q: Do you have any other projects with the company lined up?
A:
I'd love to answer this but some of these questions go a leeeetle too far in opening the kimono and the ones that don't will wind up sounding like canned marketing sound bites (e.g. "We're thrilled with our relationship with Cavia, etc.").
You know I can't talk about sales forecasts (only IR can do that globally) or the potential of upcoming titles.
Guys, check out the new pics in the Monster Hunter thread.
EDIT:
How many updates do I have to do before I get a response?
Monster Hunter FU u all!
Mother****.
I just came back after 2 hrs and there is only one reply.
Mine, of course. So why are you bitching at me?
I'm bitching at everyone!
Hudson Revives The Calling
Spooky Wii game on the way for 2009 release.
US, July 8, 2009 - One of Hudson's more mysterious Wii projects burst back into the headlines today with a proper unveiling in this week's Famitsu. Wii owners who like the scares of such games as Fatal Frame can look forward to Calling, a first person horror adventure game that's due for Japanese release this year.
You take control of male lead Shinichi Suzutani and female lead Rin Kagura, who make the mistake of visiting one of those mysterious countdown websites we're seeing all over the place nowadays. It's said that visitors to this site, known as "The Black Page," can occasionally enter a chat room. There, they may hear a signal, dooming them to eternity in that uncomfortable place between life and death.
Our two heroes find themselves in that uncomfortable void, and they've got to find a way out. Thankfully, they have their trusty cell phones with them. When you're not using the Wiimote in pointer mode to move the two characters around the world in first person, the controller becomes a virtual cell phone. You'll receive calls from ghosts, whose commentary could yield hints at how to progress. You'll also use the cell phone to call other cell phones, something that allows you to warp around the world. The cell phone even has a camera, which can be used to take pictures of the environment (to be sent to friends later).
Outside of helpful phone calls, the ghosts are also featured in fright events. You clear these by swinging the Wiimote around while using button commands for special actions. Success in these events will allow you to progress to the next episode.
This all new Wii horror adventure is currently 70% complete, Famitsu reports. Japan gets it some time this year. Given Hudson's track record with releasing Japanese titles around the world, an international release sounds like a safe bet.
Good attempte GG, but you aren't going to get anything from those Capcom boards.
Crap gtg, I wanted to post more, I'll be on later.
Yeah you're not going to get that kind of info from the forums there GG. Hell you probably wouldn't get some of that info in a sit-down interview from a reputable gaming site. I think you're expecting too much from there and they wouldn't do any big reveals to some anonymous forum poster.
Anyway Monster Hunter looks great. Definite purchase for me, can't wait.
Good luck on the capcom forum, I haven't gone there for awhile. Too frustrating.
Uh, an uncomfortable void ? Seems weak for survival horror.
Ok - sounds good.
What? Getting telemarketed by ghosts all game - great.
Warping? Pictures to friends? This is not scary!
Fright events aka QTE's.
I hope this game is ok for a rental at least. I do love horror.
And PES Wii with a normal release date. They see the light!
All these new "survival horror" games are so ghost oriented. It's like that Japanese Grude style horror movie mania is taking over games. Where the hell are the true gorefests. Ohhh a ghost, how scary... bah, I want some giant mutated monster than can rip off my head and eat it.
