I make no comment on relative quality, only the manner of discussing it.  But a lack of "epicness" is begging the question of why "epicness" is inherently a good thing.

What I mean by "epicness" is something of significance. Examples would be Resident Evi , Dead Rising, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, God of War, Resistence, Ninja Gaiden, Bioshock, etc.

I'm not saying that less significant games are bad just that the Japanese truly lack of what they once were to the gaming market in those terms.

NG vs. DMC......personally I think NG series blows DMC away. To me the combat feels much more natural and "real", while I hate having to hammer on dudes forever in DMC just to rack up an "AWESOME!!11!" on the screen. It feels more arcadey to me. NG also has a much better save system, and doesn't have the cheapness to it that DMC does.

DMC 1 and 3 had some very cool environments though, which I think are better than NG's mostly generic environments. But the NG games are prettier in a technical way.

The guys at my local BB are nice. They don't know jack shit about videogames, but they don't walk around the store acting otherwise, so that's cool. Some of them actually ask me stuff about upcoming games and shit. They know who is pimp there.

I'm still here, but I haven't found much reason to post recently.

But I guess since someone actually noticed my absence and commented on it, I'll contribute a post.

Took a look at those Games of Fall lists for the consoles. Wii's got some good stuff coming, but it just doesn't look as good as some of the stuff the 360 and PS3 are getting. Not nearly as good, IMO. I'm a Wii-only gamer right now, so I'm a bit of a sad panda. Not like it would be wise to spend money on ANY games right now, though.

As for numbers, they list 20 Wii games, 27 360 games, and 30 PS3 games. Not horrible, but I'm still left sighing. My roommate's got a 360, so I've been able to see gorgeous game visuals. And of course I still want MGS4. The PS3's price can't drop too soon! Then again... I want BC. Stupid Sony.

I notice your absence every day. It's like being in hospital and not having your bro come and visit. As a Wii only gamer you should have had lots of stuff to comment on recentely. Capcom announcing Tatsukono vs Capcom and showing off monster hunter 3. Tenchu, GTA and Houser's Wii comments, madworld previews, De Blob reviews, megaman 9 etc etc.

It's only availible to import over here for around $32 for the first season. I don't think I used to watch this regularly so I wanted to check out an episode before I bought. The main gargoyle has a loin cloth, purple skin and like an early 90s bouffant hairdo. I'm not sure I can take this guy seriously.

Final Fight and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and The Punisher arcade game and Aliens vs Predator arcade and Captain Commando > Ninja Gaiden or DMC.

My local blockbuster guy is like a grey haired 44 year old who still thinks he knows everything when it comes to videogames. I really hope I don't end up like him, but in fairness I think he owns and runs the place.

I saw it. I was sort of wondering if anyone had anything to say about it. IMO it's the sort of game that would go under the radar on PS2 and end up as a 7.5 game that nobody bought till it was $20.

Because it's on Wii it's getting attention for being one of the few full games from western third parties. The exterior shots look great, the mountains and buildings at least. The rest of game just seems from the trailer to be pretty uninspired to me.
