That's actually what I thought of as soon as I saw the large enemies, but you never fought smaller enemies in SotC, plus Kizuna looks a lot more action orienteted.
I gotta say, I just made it to the Water Dragon level in Okami, and the game really improves around this area. This is the only part of the game where I can understand people trying to put it on the level of Zelda. In fact it really reminds me of Ocarina here.
The first 15 hours of the game is just way too poorly paced though, and not interesting enough.
I'm back baby! Time to get caught up with games, news, rumours, etc. So what did I miss?
^^Just check the news of the weeks you missed. A short list: Rygar still alive, Disaster will be released in Europe in October, Fragile looks gorgous and Little King's Story has devil cows. Oh and there is a new Wii Rpg Kizuna.
I thought so, after reading the descriptions of both games. The boss pic makes kizuna look simlar but the rest of it seems a lot different.
I will, thanks man.
Ah the water dragon level. I enjoyed that. Then you will get the hammer and shrink down for another excellent albeit short section. Unfortunately, after that you're in for a world of boredom and frustration when you hit Oni Island. I've put this game on hold like we discussed. I'll get back to it eventually.
Hit the View Older GG weekly link, then check out page 8 of last week for some kickass Kizuna screens and in Fridays updates there is a great 8 minute Tenchu IV video. You also missed my blog, which has gone back in time to catalogue all of the childhood favourites from the TV world we all used to watch. I just bought some DVD stuff too.
Nintendo are releasing a wireless router in japan, no doubt as part of that deal with the ISP company. What else... er Spore has been getting reviews. Dean Takahashi has been exposing the 360's technical woes. Edgecrusher had testicle surgery. Steelattack painted my name above his bed and made the shocking revelation that he uses my old picture to get himself hard.
We learned that Jujitsu is okay if you don't make eye contact.
Did a few updates. Just a note to whoever missed it.

Why do you think most teams haven't gone a similar route? Is there some aspect of the hardware that is either unintuitive or difficult, beyond just having less horsepower than the other systems?
MC: Definitely that's more of a question for our technology folks back at the studio, but I would say that with systems like the Xbox 360 and PS3, you can use pixel shaders to deliver the great visual effects. With the Wii, things are a bit different, so we had to do a lot more under-the-hood optimizations to enable the system to do what it could do.
And then, even from the art content creation perspective, the system is a real balancing act, because you do have more limited texture space and whatnot, so you need to keep playing with your textures and your geometry resolutions and your lighting schemes to really bring out the visual style. It's not as easy as building your models in Zbrush, mapping to your low-res cage, and then just turning on the cool lights and you're ready to go.
Wow, good to know that some one actually saw that

So next gen = old gen with fancy lighting?

Oh, and morning from Melbourne all. Looks like I will be buying an iPod Touch after all. Thank god for Apple releasing new iPods today!
Kizuna plays nothing like SotC.
I just noticed that all in the Seinfeld cast but Kramer is very shot.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileOrganized info from this Gamestop Managers meeting:
Resistance 2 seems to have stolen the show:
"Reason why I won't post exactly what I saw ....
But it was VERY INTENSE!
Predator type of monsters everywhere!"
"My boss's phone died on him out there and he forgot his charger, but he sent me a text after the video (and mind you he is a 360 fanboy) and all he would say is "****** GLORIOUS! 160GB IS MINE WHEN IT COMES OUT....if my wife actually lets me spend money" I am so mad at him right now "
Other news:
Animal Crossing and Wiispeak bundle is about $70.
Mark Hamill will be the Joker in the new Batman game.
Fight Night 4 trailer shown, it has Mike Tyson.
Peter Moore was there and he mentioned the Dreamcast's birthday which is today so everyone pay your respects!!
Everyone there got Rock Band 2 as a gift.
Everyone there got into the Resistance 2 beta.
Cammie of Nintendo was there and she talked about GTA Chinatown wars, you can draw tatoos on your character with the stylus.
RE5 and SF4 playable.
Info on SF4 sticks:
"The Street Fighter 4 console sticks were there (sadly, I'm not).
The "premium" version will use the same parts as the japanese arcades are right now. That said, I'm not entirely sure what the "regular" version would have, or why they feel to need to have 2 SKUs for arcade sticks."
More as it comes out...
Do we know anything about the gameplay yet?
Ah, makes sense now! Hmm that's lowered my interest in a little. I never really enjoyed those sort of action games much.
Dude, you're not meant to actually update!
^^^Yes its mostly like Dynasty Warriors and possibly another mash of Final Fantasy. That SOtC like creature is just a boss in the game.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
Cheers Yoda.
There are also pictures of a town with NPC's in Kizuna, so it is nothing like SoTC. It's an action RPG
Just updated with stories on Fallout 3 and Ensemble Studios.
Ah, makes sense then. That's kinda lowered my interest in it, though, I'm not to keen on Dynasty Warriors style aciton games. Though if the RPG elements are compelling...
You're not meant to actually update.
Why do EA close down the fight night studio, then make an awful ready to rumble clone. Then make another fight night?
Great! Just a note to everyone, try and get your spelling correct and go back and edit things if it's not.
Shut it you lazy bum. Get updating.

The latest issue of Famitsu has a first report on Ougon no Kizuna, a new Wii action RPG from Jaleco.
In Ougon no Kizuna, you take control of main character Lian in intense battles that make heavy use of the Wiimote's pointing capabilities. You use the nunchuck to move about, and target enemies by directly pointing with the Wiimote. From there, it's all about mashing buttons for combos and special attacks. The game puts players up against large groups of enemies, as well as massive bosses.
In addition to the main story, which is split into chapters, you'll find over 100 quests to help pass the time. These quests actually appear to be a central part of the game, whose theme revolves around the bonds Lian form with people of the world (the game's title translates to "Golden Bonds").
The title is drawing attention in particular due to some of its staff members. Miwa Shouda, who previously worked on Final Fantasy XII, Saga Frontier, and Legend of Mana, is working on the game's scenario. Yoichi Kawaguchi, of Little King Story and Dragon Quest VIII fame, is serving as director and programmer.
Ougon no Kizuna will hit the Japanese Wii this Winter.
at the Disaster trailers. The game looks good, but hearing the japanese guy repeat Disaster at the end over and over cracked me up. I know it's several ads rolled into one viewing, but it's still funny.
