In terms of previously, I suppose the best way to put it is that I liked the Virtual Boy.

I hated Sony for killing the Dreamcast (or at least the cameo role they played) and I hated Sony for the complete mess they made out of the PS3 launch until last week, but still I have some sympathy for them. I was a late adopter of the PSP as well.
I guess it is not fanboyism as much s it is a lovehate relationship. I respect their perfectionsim and I hate it at the same time.
I was also a late adopter of the XB, but turned into a fanboy, but my 4th 360 made me a relunctant 30 owner. M$ owes me BIG TIME.

EDIT: I owned all of these consoles during their initial lifespan, except for the Atari Jaguar, Virtual Boy and 3DO. I bought all three of those consoles shortly after they were discontinued.

When I think about it, it was always about the games. Nintendo had all the best games before Sony came in and beat the crap out of them for the crown. But even still, Nintendo has a special place in my heart, even though its being chipped and broken gradually by every new casual game Nintendo brings out.
Because of all that, I appreciate and enjoy every system now. But yeah, I was a huge Nintendo fanboy...I think most of us were/are. Obviously since we make fun of The VG Press by saying it's a Nintendo site!

That's the one system I could never afford. I liked NeoGeo games, and played them often in the arcades, but the prices for their home games were outrageous! In fact, they still are!

I believe Miyamoto has carefully passed on most of his signature gameplay philosophies to the
younger game designers within Nintendo, so I do think Nintendo will be
able to continue making new games based upon his established IPs that will live up to his legacy for years after
he eventually passes.
Where Nintendo may suffer is in creating new gameplay ideas or IPs. Miyamoto is second to none in that area.

I'm a huge Sony fanboy. But it's never really affected me too much. I wasn't very interested in the PS3 to begin with (nor the 360), and I find it hilarious how bad they're doing, but I do like them more than Nintendo or Micrsosft.

There are some modern arcade games that are quite good, even great, but nothing surpasses playing games in a crowed arcade in the '80s-early 90's. The games were better then (IMO), and the atmosphere was just awesome. I remember when SFII and Mortal Kombat came out, and there were like 10 to 20
kids huddled around a single arcade taking turns against
whoever the winner happened to be. I also remember seeing several physical fights break out due to sore losers. 
All you get these days are 12 year olds cursing at you via a microphone. It's just not the same. 
to this day i haven't seriously played a mortal combat game after trying the first one and realising what a joke it was compared to the perfection of SFIIin the nintendo vs sega era i mostly felt closer to nintendo though i felt no real enmity towards sega (except for the master system which we generally laughed at). i had a friend who had both a SNES and a Megadrive at most times between him and his brother as well as a gameboy and gamegear (at least until the gamegear was proven to be completely impractical). that way i got to play both, but i mostly chose that we played the SNES when i had a saying on the matter. with my own money (after saving my pocket money for weeks and resisting the arcades) i bought a gameboy. and i have had every nintendo handheld since
in the generation after that my friend was an early adapter of the saturn and vehemently defended it against the playstation even when the tide looked irreversible. i guess this meant i was a sega fanboy by proxy then.
in the last generation (which was the first one when i had my own money) i had all 3 systems eventually getting the gamecube first, then the PS2 and finally the XBox and i guess that order betrays my feelings (even if i have a much larger collection of PS2 games than GC games, there was just a lot more of them).
this generation is looking similar to the last. i got the wii first, some months ago i got the ps3 and maybe before it's all said and done i will have a 360 as well (though Forza is the only game making me wish i had one at present). i'm also very happy with having both the DS and the PSP even though i play the DS more

I actually enjoyed both MK and SFII near-equally back then. SFII was clearly the better game, but I enjoyed the spectacle of MK; it was like a B-movie: You know it's bad, but it's still a lot of fun to watch/play. Fatalities were sooo cool!

i agree it was fun to watch the fatalities and the gore etc. some of them were hilarious. but i couldn't enjoy playing it.
especially the first mortal kombat played so clunky that it made it really hard for me. the jumps just felt wrong compared to SFII and i didn't like having to press a button to block and push back and kick on the joystick to foot sweep as opposed to down. MKII improved on the controls a great deal and i have to say it wasn't so bad on my friend's megadrive. reptile was especially cool

I hated Sega with a passion when I was a teen. I was Team Nintendo all the way and proud of it. I hated Sonic and the Genesis and couldn't stand those damn Blast Processing commercials. Damn lies! I actually got pissed at one commercial where a guy was shown Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario World. He chose Sonic over Mario! "Damn Lies,"I screamed. Good times there.
What about you guys? What kind of fanboy were you back in the day? Or were you one of the few who enjoyed all consoles?
