What practical purpose does sex segregation serve in this context? Just so you can pick two people instead of one? Or three...
To answer your question: No one at the moment (Shu is amusing I suppose, but meh). Most recent was Tracey Lien. Fucking Polygon.
Finally, some one called it on me. And It makes sense now that it would be you, the world's second biggest raging feminist (on this site, after me Yoda of course).
Essentially to call attention to female gaming figures, and secondarily to bring to light how few there are.
And come on, you can do better than that.
It's an affront to me that everytime a woman in our industry is brought to attention, so long as she s under 50, she is denigrated.
I saw some bullshit YouTube video that was being circulated relating to a woman working on the new Megaman project, Mighty #9, and it made me actually verbalize, after watching it, "I apologize to everyone I've ever callaed a misogynist, because THAT defines misogyny. You all know what I am talking about I think.
Im a guy that loves legends and greatness so my guy will be Miyamoto until he passes or just stops being in charge of such great games.
For the woman it is EASILY Amy Hennig. Creative director of Sony's best studio. Directed one of the greatest games of this past generation, oversaw TLOU and was in charge of Soul Reaver, another masterpiece back in the day.

...
Already happened. He's a figurehead, has been since Sunshine (maybe even before Mario 64 now I think about it). Miyamoto is a brand, not a man.
But I respect your loyalty to legends.

Fine.
Best man and woman in gaming:
Tom Towers and Phil Fogg.
You can pick which is which.
Happy now?

They have no genitals.

Men usually are the ones to finally give in.

Women tend to gloat when they get their way... which is always...
Now we know who wears the pants in the relationship.

You two make a cute couple!
Fuck off. And why have you not posted your two faves?
FINE. Michiru Yamane...
...and... **if I can't say Miyamoto** Yoshinori Ono? Hideo Kojima? Yasumi Matsuno? Tetsuya Nomura? ...no...
...Gunpei Yokoi!

Man: Day9
He's a former StarCraft professional player and is most well known for his online streaming show Day9 daily. His relentlessly upbeat and positive nature is utterly addicting and inspiring.
Woman: Jennifer Hale
The female equivalent of Nolan North, she's a voice actress in a lot of games. Oddly enough, I remember her most as Sheena from Tales of Symphonia.
But this was tough. Really tough. A coy play until you spoiled the plot, aspro!

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile
My favorite man in gaming is probably... hmh...
Right now it would be Shuhei Yoshida. He is in charge of the most diverse and creative group of development studios in the world, has a great sense of humor and humility, has technical know-how but is also sensitive to PR needs (as well as relentlessly hard-working).
My favorite woman in gaming is Carol Shaw.
This is sad, because the last game she made was released 33 years ago. But she made, in every way a video game that eclipsed what had come before, River Raid for the Atari 2600.
The next closest would be Amy Hennig.
And now... a laughably bad image:
