He probably fell into the bottomless pit in Oblivia. I did that before, I also did it without a Skell got an achievement for it as well.

Same here. There was a place there that I thought I could jump to with my Skell. I was wrong.

The reason I wrecked my Skell in that pit was I was fighting on a narrow bridge and I slipped off the bridge.

Yeah that can happen too. One time I was fighting this large monster and I almost had it beat when it went over a ledge. It promptly reappeared but with full health so I had to fight it all over again. Minor complaint though and I think it only happened once.

Well with your first Skell you get insurance so you can destroy it three times for free.

I think any time you buy a Skell you get insurance on it to repair it 3 times.
Happy New Year to my Mira exploring comrades! May we all get more anime looking pussy than we know what to do with!

I actually have two pussies and a dog in this game.
I cannot stop doing the sidequest they are so cool. Solving murders, getting aliens married, solving mysteries. It is al so damn interesting. The story is not as good as in the original, but the side stories is where the real meat is.

But instead of wasting 1 of your chances can't you just reload a previous save?

Yes you can! Or if you have a pefect escape you get a free fix with no insurance waste!
Ok finsihed chapter 10. Now doing lots and lots of sidequests. They are fun. In one I had to sneak around a cave, because the enemies where way above my level. In another cave i also tried to sneak, but it failed an a epic fight broke out. Which I won!
Also I changed my avatar. I am not a green Hulk anymore, I am a purple haired woman! With a funny cockney accent! Make the game much more amusing!
I have now four skells! Fuck yeah! This game is so addicting. Need to get to around level 50 to finish the game.
Also slight spoiler, there was a reference to the original game during the cutscene in chapter 10. Tatsu mentioned Frontier Village. Hmm interesting!
Now awaits the final chapter. First need to get to level 50, then I will finish it!

Nice. I haven't played as much during the holidays but have recently returned to it. I'm currently at story mission 9, can't to be able to fly my Skell around.
The ending really makes it feel like this is a prologue for something bigger, there must be a sequel.
Compared to the original this game is more oneven. Some parts are better, some are worse. Overall the original is the better game by a clear margin.
But this game has mechs!
Now it is time for the post game content!
Played some more XCX this weekend. And by some more, I mean about 2 hours. There aren't many games where you can put in 2 hours and still feel like you haven't made any significant advancement, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Also, something strange happened. I had to do the 'renewed will' affinity quest to advance. I looked all around for it before just giving up and googling it. So I go to where I'm suposed to find it and figure I might as well do some other affinity quest first, as there seem to be loads of them and I don't want to just blaze past them all. I end up doing the 'the ties that bind' quest with the Dodonga caravan and when it's all done I get a message that I can now start chapter 5, and the renewed will quest is just gone. I hope the renewed will quest didn't involve any important bits of plot or anything.
Wait.... so your mech dies when you fall from a height?
