I loved Starger Things 2, I don't know what the bitching was about. Even ep 7.
robio said:I've just about finished Mind Hunter, but I can't decide whether to invest in the final episode or not. Overall I have enjoyed parts of the show. The scenes where they are interviewing serial killers, and working cases are great. The ones with their personal life are usually okay. The ones about office/FBI politics however just kill me. Hate those and unfortunately that seems to be what drives to show towards the end of the season.
I added that show to my list because of you.

Well at least give it a shot. I definitely enjoyed the earlier episodes. I just didn't care for the direction it took. You still might though.

I can't watch crime scene shows (which my significant other finds odd given the violence in the games I play).
Been watching Goonies and The Crown this week. (I know, I know).

Well the crime scenes, while there aren't many, can definitely be graphic.

I'm sort of like that.
I'm okay with crime scene shows if I know it is fictional characters.
If they're using real crime scenes then I can't watch it, because I know it is real people and would get freaked out by that.

But I had no problem playing The Condemned 1 and 2.
If I had to analyse it I'd probably go with, "subject matter in games don't matter, it's all about play-feel and skill" whereas when taking in passive media, it's all there just for mental stimulus and entertainment, and I probably find that a bit off-putting.
Most detective shows are just thinly-veiled propaganda, or some of the most disgraceful exploitation in media, anyway.
I've been watching the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmit. It's a sitcom, not that funny but watchable. By 30 rock creator.
I watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 yesterday on Netflix it was alright really overrated. The music was good at least.

I stopped watching it halfway through the second season. Titus is my favorite character but he's not enough to make it any more bearable.
Rewatched the entire 24 series. That show was so good.
Started watching the new Walking Dead season. It's better than last season but still isn't as interesting as the first few seasons.
Also been watching Vikings new season which is still great stuff even with some of the main characters being killed off.

I just started watching Vikings I'm on season 1 currently.

Yeah, I watched both seasons. Not that funny, but Tina Fey. Not sure if I'd turn up fo rthe third season.
On the other hand, I watched Godless. A great western miniseries. Some great acting by Jeff Daniels and a pretty good western story with an epic conclusion.
Also finished watching S1 of Mindhunter. Good stuff as well.
In other news I finally started watching Shameless. Great show. Funny and very uncomfortable all at once. Haven't seen a group of damaged characters like that since I played Final Fantasy Tactics and walked into the Wiegraf/Velius way underleveled.
I'm a little late to the party, but I finally watched the first season of The Tick on Amazon. Overall I liked it, but I'm still trying to decide how good it is. You really have to adjust your perspective since they've made Arthur the main character and that changes things up a bit, but it's probably for the best. The show still does a good job of honoring what made the Tick special. It throws in bizarre characters and situations into completely mundane world, and no one ever blinks. There are some funny characters and scenarios, but I haven't had a real laugh-out-loud moment yet. At times I think a better writer could get some more laughs out of it, but at the same time I'm not sure they want to go for big laughs with the show. They just want to keep things odd.
At any rate my biggest issue is really that it's only six 30 minute long episodes. It's enough to get some ideas on the vibe and direction, but not enough to really get familiar with everything and everyone. Kind of feels like Amazon just wasn't ready to commit. Hopefully they do because I would like to watch a second season.
