I think that's not my best angle.

GG yes there was an arcade version of monster land which is how i knew it because back then i didn't have any consoles (nor did i know anyone with a master system).  it is a totally awesome game.  some of my fondest gaming memories are of this very game.  in the end wonderboy kills the dragon ("Dragon was robot" = most awesome line of dialogue in a game ever) he jumps into the spaceship and shoots off to outer space as the credits roll.  that made me dream of and expect a WB sequel taking place in outer space.  sega let me down.

one of my biggest gaming achievements is also tied to this game.  when i was living in halls of residence during my first year at uni i played this on mame on my computer with an audience of about 5-6 guys from the dorm who didn't believe i could finish this with one credit.  not only did i finish it, but i did it with the best (most expensive gear), having found all the secret doors, beat all the bosses, - i got the riddler's question wrong on purpose (i told them which was the right answer ... the girl at the bar hints at you if you understand what she says) because i really enjoy fighting him.  most impressive was that i found my way through the maze (final level) having previously chosen ruby over bell - bell rings when you are going the right way in the labyrinth, while ruby makes the final boss easier - without making a single mistake (i hadn't played the game in over ten years and didn't think i still remembered).  oh and i had in excess of 2000 in gold when i finished (because i could get mostly 65s by using weapons while jumping for coins).  after this they knew i was old skool
