his scenarios have so far been a lot of the same thing. Basically it's just replacing bone, drilling into them, and attaching plates to them. No time limit either. It's not bad, and the 4th chapter in his story started to change things up so I'm hopeful that the 5th one will be a little more interesting as far as the actual surgery goes.

I don't remember that.
Did anyone play New Blood? That game launched like a year late in europe so I never picked it up.
angrymonkey said:Hey, an official thread! I had fun with this game as well. I didn't mind the orthopedic stuff but I think that was what I was best at. But yeah, it wasn't the most exciting. Do you like the paramedic maria episodes ? - I really enjoy the fast paced nature of those and having to jump between patients. That stabilizer doesn't sit idle.I'm happy with the difficulty levels - I didn't have to reattempt too many surgeries. I like the grading method(like excite truck) - have a minimum level to attain that enables people to continue the storyline without being great players. The story/writing I'm not a fan of. I like that it's unique - kind of goofy and lighthearted but it's just not my thing I guess.
Yeah I loved Maria's episodes. Really changes up how you play the game. As far as the story, I don't mind it so much. Sure it won't win any awards, but if its just one serious situation after another you might as well just be watching one of those Doctor dramas on TV.

Did you fall asleep while playing? The healing touch! The tiny...things flying through patient's innards!

I found the healing touch to be completely plausible. I've even mastered it myself, I use it when I want to touch myself faster than humanly possible.

Give it to me.
robio said:I also have New Blood. Friend got it for me years ago since it was on the cheap. I've never touched it though because the games were just too tough for me. Maybe I'll check it out after Trauma Team though and just set it to the easiest mode.
Give it to Steel. Since it's NTSC.
angrymonkey said:I also have new blood and have barely touched it. Are trauma center games the best rated games that have never been played?
Either that or GTA: Chinatown Wars. Shame, but they are super nichey. No way some kid only concerned with getting headshots would pick up a game that's essentially a surgery sim.

Yep, that's another one I've barely played.

Quick, I need a stick to beat you with.

Niche gaming at its finest right here.
I'm about 6 or 7 hours into the game, and without a doubt this has been the hardest to put down game I've played this year. Thanks to some adjustments to the difficulty level and the addition of a continuing option it's the most approachable game in a series that I had pretty much written off as being too difficult for me.
So far I'm loving everything about it, except for maybe some of the voice casting. It's got multiple intersecting stories with different memebers of a hospital trauma team. The stories range from thought provoking, to goofy as hell (one of the doctors is a secret super-hero), to flat out weird. They're not all great, but none of them strike me as bad.
Additionally, each doctor has different scenarios. One doctor has segments that would be identified as typical Traume Center scenarios. Another is an EMT/Paramedic whose scenarios include doing light work in the field but having to do it for as many as 6 patients in a single shot and you have to balance out each patient so that none of them die on you.
Anywhere this is where I'll be doing my updates and ongoing impressions. I'll do my best to keep any spoilers out of it as well.
