Lets see... It'd have to be something that was typical to the 2010's.
I'd guess something that's both accessible, allows for self expression through crafting and is also entertaining to watch. Something that could also double down as a means to learn something new, that takes new technology and creates something chunky and immediately understandable to a wide audience.
It has to be Nintendo Labo.

2011: Space Chem (at the time Dark Souls)
2012: Hotline Miami (at the time Mark of the Ninja)
2013: Antichamber
2014: Velocity 2x (at the time Bayonetta 2, was close tho between Guilty Gear Xrd, but its Rev 2 I got into)
2015: Rocket League
2016: The Witness
2017: Nioh (alllllllllllllllllmost actually replaced this with Tekken 7)
2018: Dragonball FighterZ
2019: Devil May Cry 5

Top choice was the solid and logical pick. As I said before it's really hard to argue any other game given that it's been around for almost the entirety of the decade and each year it still manages to outsell most other games.

I was just gonna say Gears multiplayer, but Gears is just filling up an arena shooter hole the size of a crater with a pebble, it just never is what it needs to be for society. On the flip side The Last of Us has so much wack shit, yet overcomes it. Truly Naughty Dog might be the bravest.
The genre is extremely top heavy..................................oh wait Binary Domain boyo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so what if it's a lame ass cover shooter, it has Big Bo, and as this list has shown us, the genre is really boring because of the cover shooter bullshit, and we can only be saved by Nippon making turd person shooters. They did after all, make the greatest one, when they made Resident Evil 4, because come to think of it The Evil Within is better than western jabroni games as well.
