Because that would actually make a Zelda game fun. Nintendo can't have that. It must be a boring and overly redundant game (i.e. a remaking Zelda: Oot over and over and over and over again).

You should be banned from the internet. Nay! Banned from the earth!

Anything new would be welcome. I still like my idea that Link goes to the past and meets young Ganondorf.
Okay enough about the setting!
What do you Wii Sport Resort guys think of the controls in the next Zelda. Do you think the sword, bow, frisbee (as boomerang), basketball (throwing bombs) controls should be used for the next Zelda?
And how would the puzzles and combat change?

Hell, yes!

Puzzles should be eliminated altogether because they are boring.
Combat should be in first person. Also, it should have much, much, much more difficult enemies. I'm sick of the lame enemy A.I. in Zelda games. I want to be challenged, dammit!

Most definitely use the WSR controls. But the sword should be controlled with one hand, and still use the trigger to block. The nunchuk moves Link and you use Z to block with your shield, for arrows. I think bombs could be smaller and hurled like grenades with greater precision. You may need to be able to lock on to certain things with the boomerang, or the option to choose lock on or not.
I want the puzzles to be more devious, but not sure how to implement M+ yet for those.
And Raven is right. We need some tough ass enemies with cool defenses.
One last style/setting idea. I'd like the next Zelda to have a similar graphics style as Wii Sports Resort, complete with Mii-like characters! A Mii version of Link, Zelda and Ganon would be the main characters, of course.
It should also be set on Wuhu island, only 500-1000 years earlier than WSR. Since it's an eariler time period, Nintendo could make the island much bigger with more small islands to visit, which Link could travel to by boat. He could fly around the island by grabbing onto the talons of a giant Owl!
Shoot, Wuhu Island already has a Hyrule-like castle!
The possibilities are endless!

So basically you want Red Steel 2.
Oh nice pic, the way the mountainside has been drawn is very nice.

i like every one of your ideas, including the medieval wuhu setting, except that about doing away with the puzzles. i think that is such an integral part of it and it's what i enjoy the most in a zelda game that i would want even more emphasis on that rather than less.
more and bigger dungeons, with some devious environmental puzzles included, is something i would certainly enjoy

Yeah, I figured most people would disagree with me on the puzzles thing. Most people love 'em, and I certainly understand that.
I'm an action gamer at heart, so when I get to a puzzle, the game slows to a crawl, and I start getting bored. If the puzzle takes more than 10 minutes to figure out, I'm done. I think this is why I liked the original Fable so much. It was an action-oriented Zelda-like game.

i think you would really like dark chronicle/dark cloud 2

Fixed for great justice!

Actually, that's also quite true!

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileOkay we have some new info from Aonuma himself
When asked how different the new Zelda title will be when it arrives on Wii next year, Aonuma replied: "It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise."
"So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version."
So they are going to make changes to the structure of the game. What do you think the changes would be?
Oh and......

If the structure is like PH then I will cry.
It will be casualised Zelda.
New Super Linkified Zelda Bros.
Like Four Swords on GC but on Wii.

I'd buy it!
Why not just have a link skin in Mario Galaxy 2. Two birds, one stone.
