WTH is Defendor?

I saw the new Rambo, entertaining but pointless. Not as good as the old trilogy either. I thought Rambo himself could have used some more action, rather than just standing at a turret killing everyone. Those peace loving hippies were portrayed in a paper thin fashion.

Defendor is a movie about regular guy (though possibly slightly retarded) Arthur Poppington who believes he is a super-hero and is in search of his drug/crime lord nemesis and befriends a prostitute in the process.  I have only watched the first half hour of it (will try to watch the rest tonight), but it seems very good so far

I don't know where this belongs, so I'll put it here.

Infernal Affairs Trilogy clockd in at 22.

Naked Gun at 19 above X-men Nyaa

Park Chan Wook's Vengeance trilogy at 18.

Die Hard 1-3 at 14. Happy

The Bourne Trilogy places higher than the Indiana Jones films. Excuse me while I vomit. Nah I mean Bourne films are okay but the Indy trilogy should be 1 or 2.

Uh oh, Star Wars isn't 1.

Predictable, but no less depressing number one.

Star Wars weak leink: "Most fanboys would have you believe Jedi is, but blah balh blah"

Err, is that why it's got the lowest score on your list, and thus is probably the reason it's not number oen. Lulz.

The first Bourne film is good, but the others seem like re-runs. I hear the 3rd movie isn't even based on the original books. I really like the movies but crap, Indy should be top 3.

Saw this.

Really good serial killer pic. Very compelling, sometimes shocking, well directed and acted.

End scene was quite jarring when she was on an island with a limo though.

All 7s...ratings, bah. Sad

Duelist: 7/10 I like the crude slapstick. It makes the pretentious martial arts good. SUCK IT. Yes, the start is slow, and the middle drags a bit as far as narrative goes, but stylistically it feels pretty good, and yes, the finale is nothing short of awesome. Slow motion invisible martial arts dust techniques have never been better.

Tales From Earthsea: 7/10 The Ghibli film everyone hates. Yes, the plot isn’t very well realised, but it’s pretty. Yes, there’s not as much humour as in most Ghibli films of this sort, but that makes it kind of refreshing. Honestly, a very good debut, hell it’s a very good film. The man witch is awesome. Is it a man, or is it a witch? DVD+: it has the God damn storyboard—the whole thing that you can watch with the audio track. That’s just plain awesome.

Total Recall: 7/10 one of the ultimate ‘80s sci fi action films. Yeah, yeah came out in the ‘90s, but it was made in the ‘80s. It has a Sharon Stone fucking kicking Arnie in the groin. It has a three breasted mutant, don’t tell me that ain’t ‘80s! Puppets ftw. Probably more to it than you’d think at first, but probably not quite as much as Dutch pervert director no. 1 would have you believe.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: 7/10 successful adaptation if you ask me. The puns don’t work as well on sceen? LOL luckily it’s not just about puns, then. Claustrophobic, nonsense, and most importantly, funny. It’s like Terry Gilliam directed Alice, while melding together Jabberwocky and Brazil. No John Cleese or Eric Idle: the secret to Gilliam’s success. WinkWink

Planetes: Wasn’t sure what to expect. Realistic sci fi? What? Okay, so technically if you want to be a dick, the fact that they’re out in space picking up debris isn’t realistic, and they don’t always float in space—but they float in space sometimes, making it the single most realistic space based piece of video media ever produced. Nyaa Do want more. I hope there’s more commentary, everything was covered on the first episode from butt fetishes “termite” producers.

Seven Periods With Mr. Gormsby: Wire shmire (part of its set in a school right?) second best school based satire I’ve seen. Second to Summer Heights High because it’s not as well produced, nor quite as broad. It is however hilarious, and contains paedophillia, automatically making it more “un-PC” than SHH, and it would not have been made in Australia. On the bright side of that, Australians aren’t from NZ, so it evens out, you know?

Duelist sucked. The slapstick was very jarring. A real shame because some of the end scenary was gorgeous.

Tales of earthsea is okay. I hated it at first because I had read the books. Cob is a man, don't know why Ghibli made him androgenous and voiced by a woman. Honestly the books are much better, get the Tales of Earthsea collection then get the Other Wind by Ursela Le Guin.

Total Recall is a 9/10

"Total Recall is a 9/10"

Jesus, Duelist sucks and Total Recall is a 9?! Pls no.

Seriously, though, jarring meh. Stopped it from being nothing but your run of the mill Asian scenery masturbation film. Also kept things from being too sentimental. Can understand not liking it, though. Even though you're wrong. Nyaa Total Recall definitely isn't a 9. It's really good, but nothing mind blowing or anything. 7/10 is a great score in my book.

The books I'm interested in, though honestly they sound like they might suck going by the themes (as presented in the film). And they're fantasy to make matters worse. Nyaa

Tell me it goes deeper than the appreciation of life BS. The feminism is what really has me worried, though. Nyaa

Books are great, especially the Other Wind which is LOTR book worthy. But that is a follow up to the Tales of Earthsea quartet so you have to read those first.

Asian slapstick humour in films is some of the lamest stuff I have ever seen. I own the Duelist and it's pretty pants.

Total Recall, did you just see it for the first time? What were you doing in the 90s?

Three boob woman automatically makes it a 9/10

No matter how lame you think Asian slapstick is, it can't compare in terms of lameness with western cinema goers exploding with semen over seeing Asian scenery/philosophy/martial arts.

I've seen Total Recall many times. No way is it a 9/10. And I love it. wtf are we discussing here, though? Lol, I said it's one of the ultimate '80s sci fi films. This=why ratings FTL.

3 breasted woman is awesome, though. And the fact that she gets shot in the back makes her even better. LOL

Why are you reviewing a film you've seen a million times already?

Paragraph impression=/=review. I would have thought that watching a film more than once would be better for a review, though...
