Leo already has a massive list so I will use that. Homer you gave me 25 games, but unranked would you like to pick a favorite or two? Or add games that didn't make this list, bad ones even. Same with you ASK.
I'll try to make a list of my top 5 or 10 games I've played/beaten this year. Things are getting a little busy this time of year so we'll see.

^Yeah, I shoulda coulda beat Bayonetta or Peace Walker, and a couple more, but you can kind of tell from the order in which I played games, I kind of got distracted. One game leads to another kind of thing (in terms of influence, or wanting to go in a new direction). For whatever reason I played more games from 2008 this year, so I'll catch up eventually.
EDIT: I posted a news story to this thread so it would go out on twitter (we have 150 followers there).

Alright. I don't know about all the games, but I'll list the ones I enjoyed and were disappointed with.

- Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Obviously, SMG 2 is great. I'm still going through it but DKC Returns has been taking my time.
- Sin & Punishment 2 - This is a awesome on-rails shooter.
- Endless Ocean Blue World - Just relaxing to play.
DS
- Dragon Quest IX - It's still one of the best DS RPGs, although I'm more excited about DQVI.
- SMT Strange Journey - I'm not into demonic, SMT games, but I really like this.
- Cave Story DSi - Other than Shantae, the best DSiWare game.
PSP
- Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - The lack of a linear story turns me off a bit, but it's still one of the best PSP games.
- Valkyria Chronicles 2 - I really like this, but like I said in the news section, the story and characters are its weakness.
- Lunar Silver Star Harmony - A really awesome remake. But very old-school.
- Ys Oath of Felghana - Very good Ys game. Not as Memorable as Ys 7 was for me, but still fun.
XBOX 360
- Darksiders - Is it Zelda? Is it God of War? Doesn't matter, the game is good and does enough to stand on its own.
- Red Dead Redemption - One of the most amazing games I ever played. But it does get repetitive, but that's the nature of open-world games.
- Halo Reach - It's the best looking Halo game, and probably the best one. But at the end, it's still Halo.
- Split/Second - Still one of my favorite arcade racers, only trumped by Hot Pursuit.
- Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - I played this extensively at a friend's house and I already can say that it's the best arcade racer I've played.
- BlazBlue Continuum Shift - I like it, yet disappointed at the same time. The DLC characters was a rip-off.
- Limbo - Good puzzle platformer, but too short...and too expensive.
- Alan Wake - From what I played earlier in the year, it's a good game. Kind of disappointing because of the insane hype, but the hype was unfair.
- Mass Effect 2 - I didn't get into the first one but the second one was pretty good. Probably because it's more like a shooter.

Red Steel 2 - I enjoyed it.
I still haven't tried Red Steel 2 yet. I want too though. I keep seeing it at hobo prices but it never includes the M+. 
I don't want to pay another $20 just for M+. I hope I can find the bundle for hobo prices.

DKC Returns is definitely my favorite of the year.
The masterful thing about this game is that even with the crazy level designs, it still has that simplicity to it that is easy to play. Which is why the game feels challenging but not cheap.

Sure. Bear in mind, though, that this list is bound to change, since I have RDR already under my tree, and I'll be playing it after Christmas. It's definitely going to be on my top 3. I am probably going to get Starcraft II as well, but I don't know if the demo I'm playing right now would be enough for you guys to include it on the list. It's a pretty big demo, though. And finally, the other game under my tree is Darksiders. It'll depend on my impressions on the game if it gets included or not.
With that out of the way, I don't know if I even played 10 games from this year, so I'll struggle to make it at least a top 5.
- Mass Effect 2 - Outstanding second episode of my most beloved franchise this generation. Among its flaws it could be mentioned that instead of improving or streamlining RPG aspects that are usually considered staples, such as a proper inventory and attributes systems, Bioware simply did away (mostly) with them, leaving the weight of the game on its plot, dialogue, characters and combat system. The thing is, it's not a bad tradeoff, all things considered. Definitely my high point in gaming this year.
- Halo: Reach - Even without playing ODST, I could easily call this one the best Halo title ever. Balls to the wall, no bullshit action. Varied environments, good vehicle segments, great powerup system, interesting weapons and hands down, the best story in the franchise. I didn't touch the multiplayer, but the game stands as a magnificent SP title on its own.
- StarCraft 2 - ^__^ kekekekekeke
- Gran Turismo 5 - As imposing as a mammoth, and equally on its way to extinction as the flagship title of a dying breed in game development trends. It has more content than ever, but plagued with obnoxious design choices that affect almost every single aspect, from visuals to user interface to online playing. However, by the time you hit the track on a premium car in cockpit view, and the familiar sound of the counter mixes with the engines revving up, nothing else matters anymore...until you get bumped from behind by a mentally deficient AI driver.

I want to try something a little different here with the GOTY voting. I know Galaxy 2 will win so whats the point. How about we figure which games we all played the most collectively. My idea is for you to share with me a list of all the games from 2010 you played or beat this year, good and bad. Tell me if you enjoyed it or not, if you can, rank your favorites so I have an idea of which games you enjoyed the most. A few members already started to do this so I can just grab from their list, if you have no list make one.
If you forget a game or two its ok, I am not taking a census, just give me a list of games from this year. I will then tally up all the data, find out which game was the most played, which games got the most love and which ones we didn't like. We can have stats on which console we played the most, which genre we played the most and so on.
This only works if you participate. I can already hear GG groaning about making a list, do it damn it.
