Shouldnt there be some build up to a great final moment. I am dumbfounded at the choices made at the end of this game, shows a complete lack of understanding of what makes a compelling gameplay experience.
Playing some of these 360 exclusives now have totally validated my choice to go with PS3 and Wii this gen, the gulf of quality between the MS exclusives and what Sony and Nintendo makes is gigantic.
Then please explain to me why Xbox is king in America?! (Joking...joking)
Yakuza 2 seems just like Yakuza 1. And Yakuza after all these years seems really basic. I really hope 3 and 4 has some big enhancements. Story is awesome though.

Yeah, it's a brawler with excellent cutscenes.
Three is an aquired taste. Four is the best of them all.

3 is less awkward to play, but the combat is no more complex. Well, there might be a few more special moves and things of that nature, but it's basically the same.

Is Yakuza like an old school brawler like Final Fight? Or a DMC wannabe?
Nothing like DMC or Final Fight....more like Shenmue with good combat.

Shenmue used a VF fighting system. If shenmue had more combat it would have been better.
Yakuza makes Japan seem like the perviest place on the planet. Places that rent out small rooms with a TV so you can masturbate, really?! Hostess bars are creepy enough. Some funny stuff though one time a chick asked where do you come from and one answer choice was "from planet BOOBS!" She didn't like that.
Foolz can you tell me exactly what is new in Yakuza 2 outside the story and new locations. It seems like its almost the exact same game with a new story.

Yeah, they have those in America too, or at least used to have them before internet porn. Japan's are probably much nicer, though. American version can be seen in the second level of Duke Nukem 3D.
^ Raven knows from experience. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of experience.

Osaka, mini-games, more side-quests, probably a few special moves. Otherwise it's exactly the same game. Same applies to Yakuza 3.

Shouldn't that be kind of inexcusable? Why does this franchise get so much praise if its doing what all those others yearly series do. Hl I think this is worse, other games at least add one new gameplay mechanic. I understand its a fun game but come on.

What new mechanic has call of duty added? Nothing that honestly has an effect (can't say online, because the story is Yakuza's online equivelent). But yeah, it's the Japanese equivelent to that. However, the games that make it basically a yearly release (samurai, zombies etc.) do do something different, so it's not quite as bad.

I wish it had no combat at all. I just want to soak in the experience. I know you would hate it, but Shenmue with a Silent Hill Shattered Memories control scheme? Awesome.
Yakuza 2 (and Yakuza in general) is such a magnificently odd series. The side missions are so absurd but somehow still seem pausable in this Japan they present. Some are pointless fetch quests, that happens in a bunch of games but others create such strange scenarios like the baby fetish gang. The american pitcher in the batting cage, lol, wtf. The game in general is stuck with such old game conventions like lack of fast travel, annoying item management system, constant loading yet there is nothing quite like it so you kind of just go with it. I almost feel like this is a game someone can claim is one of the worst games they have played and another can absolutely love it and they both could be right. Such a weird series.

Let me share a story about this. The very first time I went to an "Adult Bookstore" I was sent there by my girlfriend for .....something. That's not important. What was important was that I was nervous about going because I thought they were all skeezy nasty pervy places. When I finally went to one that I had heard doing commercials on the radio and it turned out to be a nice place all things considered. It really just reminded me of a drug store with a large selection of video tapes on one wall. So after a few minutes I relax, let me guard down and start looking around. And at that very minute one of the employees came out of a room in the back and yelled across the store, "GOD DAMMIT. SOMEONE TOOK A SHIT IN ONE OF THE VIEWING ROOMS AGAIN!!!"
This is true.
