I want to know how it is Dave Perry is Irish, yet still appears to have a humongous wang.

Seriously though this conference was in English and in the US. Japan gets their conference in a couple of weeks.

Just briefly lol. Pretty sure Vader joined the party too once or twice.

I think I deserve all the pluses you got for your announcement. I obviously had more to do with it than you!

No announcement yet, but "I garantee it". Otherwise Japan will be all snubbed.
All those PSN games are trapped on your existing PS3. Forever.
Now if you excuse me I'm off to play FF8 on my Vita.
Romero still hasn't cut his hair. Jesus Christ that guy is a living embodiement of the late 90's.

I got say I really thought Sony was going to honor the "buy it once, keep it forever" mantra. Pity. Oh well, I'll keep the PS3 for a while, even if I have to get a new one. Too much has been invested in this library.
Dvader, how are you figuring that Sony will have the best multi-platform games? Where are you getting this from?
We don't know what's going on with the new Xbox, and MS has had the best multi-platform games since 2001. I mean, just because Sony designed the console with PC parts like everyone else has been doing for 15 years doesn't guarantee the best games. It just means they've tried going the same direction as Microsoft does with its hardware. If anything, they will probably match Xbox...but I highly doubt they will be clearly BETTER.

I'm guessing its all downloads, be it movies, dlc, or full games? Lame.
I bet PSN purchases will drop like a rock now.

I don't want the wii u again, I want something new, something unique, with a decent USP. Sony have made ps4 in the same way as ps3. Where is the vision, the risk taking, the creativity and confidence to do something more away from the perceived middle ground?
Dvader said:They designed this system very different from the PS3. It was designed by western devs for western devs. They made sure this machine has everything devs want. That is the opposite of the ps3 where they made what they wanted and said screw you work on this. This time the best versions of all third party games will be on ps4.
You are talking about something completely different: architecture. Whether it's easy or hard to make games (like the ps3) developers still came through with the same games and genres.

Not sure about "clearly" better but from the specs the difference is that sony doubled their RAM to match durango but it's fast gaming RAM, where durangos is slower like wii U. Apart from that the specs are near identical but the difference is that MS is rumoured to be be devoting 3gb ram and 2 of the cpu cores to the operating system alone leaving less for actual games. Ps4 will have a higher theoretical throughput and floating point processing because of that, its like 1.84 teraflops? But if games are still made on 360 as the lead you might not see any substantial performance improvements on ps4 worth caring about.
As for the structure of the conference itself this was a brilliant move on Sony's part.
The get to release some good specs, show some improvement on the controller, point to some limited exclusives, but more importantly by having the conference now all the third parties finally get to talk about their next-gen games they have been working on for 2 years. Teh associated hype rubs off on Sony, because all those games are being announced as PS4 games (even though of course they are multiplat, but can't say anything about Durango).
By not showing the actual box they get to re-prime the pump at E3, where they will also announce their big hitters, like Naughty Dog and evergreens like Polyphony. And probably Last Guardian. Which at this point if you care about it, I am worried for your welfare.
It was a very smart move.
Asymetrical placement of sticks on a Dual Shock? What the hell is wrong with you people?
Why would you want Sony to focus on Western devs...surely Microsoft does that.
