The problem you are expieriencing is bad game design and not bad graphics.

Perhaps. Now, I didn't mean the graphics are bad, just that they have too much going on. I had a similar issue with Oblivion and Tomb Raider Underworld. The devs put so much stuff in the graphics that I just don't know what I can or can't interact with. Having lots of trees, bushes, plants, ect. may look great, but it can also cause a lot of confusion too.

You need to play Crysis! But the problem is cummunication. A game has to communicate with the player. The game should make it clear to a gamer immediately what he/she can and cannot do. Or you can be just a crappy gamer!

I have no interest in Crysis, and I'm well aware that I'm a crappy gamer. Happy

So Portal has always confused me in videos. It looks so confusing to play. How does it work exactly? You can make portals in any wall? So what it makes the wall see through?

How can you possibly keep track of where you are going?

LOL Well, that's true, I suppose. I absolutely hate spoilers, so I'm a bit sensitive to it. I've had to many games spoiled by people talking about stuff they didn't think were spoilers, but I did.

I was confused by the Portal videos too, GG. I wasn't sure I'd even like it, but the game explains the mechanics well and you can play around with it easily. I really don't think I could explain it very well, so maybe someone else can? All I can say is it's a lot of fun to play. Much more fun than I would've thought going solely by the videos of it. Oh, and it's not hard to keep track of where you are going.

Yes, and it's supposed to be improved with more levels too.

Well in a way you can. Portal: Still Alive was released on XBLA so you can download that game which is the same game on The Orange Box with some new levels added on. I believe it sells for 1200 MS Points which is $15 but you can also try out a little of the game as a free trial.

EDIT: Beaten to it.

Is it just a puzzle game or is there some story motivation for moving about the cube thing.

There really isn't a story, but the computer voice can be quite funny at times. Happy
