I think Nintendo will want competitve hardware and we are hearing the system will be powerful. So I predict:
- A powerful standalone console
- A portable console to eventually replace the 3DS with a full face touchscreen.
- Portable can be used to control NX
- Portable can also slip into a headset for VR on the cheap
- NX has a cart slot or download capabilities to play portable games
- New Mario and Zelda U as launch games
What? You finally gave up on the mirrage of a portable of home console strength that you plug in your tv for home play with a standard HDMI?
What am I to argue about now? I basically agree with you, although I don't think there'll be anything VR related. Nor will there be a new Mario on launch. I'll only add that you'll be able to buy the portable bit seperately and you'll be able to link 4 or more of them to the NX for local multiplayer. As for price... $200 for the portable, perhaps $250 if Nintendo are feeling especially cocky which I doubt, and $425 for a bundle with the console.
A PS4 original (not 4k) with a dumb controller and Zelda and Luigi's Mansion 3 as launch games. $350.
Virtua Boy in handheld form, simultaneously destroying VR and handheld gaming.

The Singularity!

Why not? Captain Toad was out ages ago. They may even do Mario Galaxy 3.
Anyone expect that patent about modular hardware boosters to pan out? Like pay for what you want.
I hope not....Mario Galaxy is done. They milked that cock dry.
I'd rather have them go back to Mario Sunshine and actually perfect what they did there. Plus....dat water.
It will launch this year in November at $399 and will be on par with the PS4. Launch games will be a port of Zelda Wii U and Super Mario Galaxy 3.
Mario sunshine and wind breaker are some of the worst versions in those respective franchises outside of shitty NES Zelda
Yet Nintendo slightly off game is still better than most of the competition.Mario Sunshine is the only Mario game that I haven't played. It seems to be the red headed step child of the franchise and probably for good reason.

It's a good game, but like WW Nintendo rushed it out and tried to pad it out a bit with mundane tasks like collect blue and red coins.

That blows my mind.
Its a great game...more of an adventure game than any of Mario's other titles. People bitched and moaned because the camera isn't always perfect.....I say who cares? Camera isn't always perfect in most games. I spend two glorious weeks playing it in the summer of 2002 and it was magic.
$349 USD.
Launches as handheld with hdmi hockey puck for your tv. The hockey puck has a 1 TB drive in it and wifi. USB support.
Seperate controllers are available for multiplayer for TV, but they are simplified and don't have displays or the same capabilities as the standalone handheld. One is included in the pack.
Launch titles. Zelda of course, and a Nintendoland like game that show you the new tech.

You know the camera actually was perfect. But it was 100% controlled by the player himself.
If you didn't use it properly there was no automation or help for it. If you actually moved it yourself you could get it anywhere you wanted it. More of a problem was the character shadowing that didn't help landing jumps.
In a single post, say clearly and simply what the NX will be.
Can include price, peripherals, launch titles too. Use bullet points if necessary.
