Heh, this may have been an extremely short-lived purchase for me afterall. I enjoyed playing it the first day I got it, but I haven't been able to get back into it since. I did some fishing yesterday, but got bored within five minutes. I'm not liking my town design with the cliff wall right next to the beach; it looks stupid. I tried a building a new town, but all of the options were basically the same with the cliff wall nonsense. Also, Isabelle annoys the hell out of me, lol.

Keep going, it gradually reveals a fuckton of improvements. You need to visit someone elses town to see the possibilities, my town is so developed the game is almost like a sim city light.
I wish Nintendo allowed us to design our own landscapes like Sim City and design our own houses like in The Sims. Being stuck with only two types of landscapes (and one is just a mirror image of the other) is dumb. Nintendo could allow us so much more customization with AC, but they refuse to do it. It's frustrating.
Seriously you need to see someones village who has played a lot, your eyes will be popping out of your head. I'm balls deep and I wemt to Gemeni's village today and even with all my stuff he had tons of things I didn't. And another friend who barely played had this amazing sci fi town hall. It seems each persons cart has some kind of item algorithm that gives access to diffrent stuff so when you check other peoples towns, it's awesome.

You can do this to an extent, you build your road layout and start adding amenities to the town like fountains and coffee shops. And for houses you can mix and match different parts like roofs, doors, fences and housefronts. Gemeni had this gleaming gold palace today, I was stunned. You can even lay down designs on tablecloths and bedsheets and hang music album art on walls.
Three days now since I restarted my town from scratch, and Nook is still only selling the finshing pole and shovel.WTF? Is my game glitched? I need other tools!
I checked a guide. So there's a bunch of different stores in the game now, and I have to unlock them.

The Axe and Watering Can are sold in the Garden Store if that's what you are looking for. Talk to your Assistant too, she'll give you some tools and guide you through a few of the tutorial activities in the beginning of the game. Speak to her over the counter and use one of the last Options. I don't remember exactly what it says.

You'll need to play about 4 to 6 weeks before you start noticing the big changes but stick with it, this more any other animal crossing, rewards you in the long haul. Main street keeps adding stores and upgrading. Best way to get tools is to visit somone online. What's your friend code?
I still don't have a slingshot and I started about six weeks ago
When you boot up your system, click the face on the bottom screen
They finally opened the Garden Store in my town. I now own an axe. Still no watering can or slingshot, though.
I also went to The Island the other day. It's small but still pretty cool. I now have a bunch of coconut trees growing on my beach.
Plant coconuts around the beachfront. Visit everynight post 8pm, catch nothing but beetles and sharks to nab 400'000 grand a night. In comparison investing 1 million in turnips will usually nab you that amount once a week.
It costs 348'000ish for an extra room and well over 500'000 to expand the room size so you need lots of cash. Enact the rich town ordinance in the mayors office.
There will be an event for North American users on Monday the 14th since it is Columbus Day observed.
