Pretty much....haha. I actually liked Limbo more than Braid. But in general I've just not been able to get into these kinds of games.

Yeah, I think Braid's one of the best games of last gen. Those puzzles are divine. Limbo's first half with the spider I think is a superb run, but after that it becomes more about its puzzle platforming, and that shit is way too basic and the puzzles basically solve themselves.

Braid is really good but these simple 2d games don't do it for me any more. Witness is the puzzle game GOAT, that's the kind of giant game we need these days.

Finished Resident Evil 6. Capcom really went big with this game, it's a pretty lengthy game with a large cast of characters and a grand globe trotting adventure that crosses paths with the separate campaigns. There's also plenty of other modes to play with such as Mercenaries and various online match types. While there are some awkward moments with the controls and camera it's difficult to not appreciate such a crazy and bombastic game such as this. Some cool boss and enemy designs as well. Really fun game to play despite some warts. 8.5 out of 10.

Wait asshole, you don't podcast anymore, I want your actual fleshed out opinions on Braid.

The rest felt so good an orgasm would've been redundant anyway.

Playing it 6 years after release, having gotten it for free from MS, I found Limbo to be way better than I had expected. I though tthe only reason it received praise was the hipster thing, but in fact it introduces two things well:

- It punishes the player's desire to act when they should be thinking.

- It does not punish the player for failing by forcing them to sit though long re-loads, or sending them backward due to unfair checkpoints.

The second part is true, but I would argue the first part is less true. A few of those deaths you need to be a bit omnitient to avoid. Some of those traps do get you, now admittedly they wouldn't be traps if they didn't at least work once or twice (kind of like some of those insta kill spots in Doom 2).

Just finished Thief.

Great game, I don't know once again what some reviewers are smoking. Its a solid stealth based adventure game with deep atmosphere that plays very similar to past games. Kind of like people have wanted from other franchises for awhile now. It has areas it could have been better of course, but its a solid game that by no means is disappointing. 8.2 rating.

Wait new Thief?

Oh no fuck that, full on rapes the gameplay of Thief. Whether or not that stops it from being a good game or not is debatable, but it's not a Thief game. It's a game inspired by games that were inspired by Thief.

This isn't the reason it has gotten average reviews. Its gotten average reviews because people were confused by the lack of action, as it plays like adventure games from 10 years ago. Did you like the last one in 2003? Because I remember people shitting on that one too, but I loved it. This one plays very similar to Deadly Shadows.

No, but I disliked Deadly Shadows in a "this is a sequel to easily the 2 best stealth games ever", it was a good game all things considered. The new one? Lacks any of the subtlty and depth that makes any of the Thief games, a thief game. It's wildly inconsistent in its design, it's not committed to its stealth the way Thief always was, it's a more stripped down version of what works in Thief, the story is several layers more stupid than your usual video game stories, they got a shittier garret, the level design while being "bigger" than Deadly Shadows is missing all the inherent complexity and depth of design that made Looking Glass's games mother fucking classics, and to be honest what at least make Deadly Shadows a Thief game.

The worst thing about the third game is yeah the new unoptomized engine from Ion Storm was hamstrung by the consoles ram limitations in a franchise that benefits from more open level design.

The new Thief is an abortion that would be rightfully criticized for being a sloppy stealth game regardless of the name on the box. It being our first Thief game since 2004, only adds to the insult.

Just recently finished Transformers: Devastation and it was a pretty solid game. It looks and sounds great, just like you'd want in a Transformers game. The combat, while not as deep as Bayonetta, is very good and really fits the Transformers well. It's a fairly short game, running about 6 to 8 hours. Even so there isn't a whole lot of variety to the stages and the game in general can get a bit repetitive. Still though you have five different characters that you can play as so it's a game that you can play through a few times. There are a number of really good and intense boss fights. It's a solid representation of the older Transformers cartoon. 7.5 out of 10.

That's cool and all, but now can you just come out and tell me how you really feel?

Try the challenges, they actually nailed them pretty well. Saito needs a run as game director for one of Platinum's bigger projects. He saved Metal Gear Rising into a pretty bitchin game (inside of a year no less), and of Activisions licensed platinum games, he's the only one that made a good game out of that small budget and short dev time. I want to see what that guy can do if he's given proper time and a budget.

lol, the fucking ghost bitch is basically that one hoe from Dead Space.

And fuck them for adding detective vision to Thief to the point where it effects basic navigation so you can't turn it off, but it's actually perfectly viable to play that game with the light gem off. The light gem. In a Thief game.

Yeah tried a couple of the challenges and they seem quite good. Will definitely be playing more of those as well as playing through the game as different characters. My first was as Optimus Prime.

Samesies, played the whole game as Optimus. Would have felt wrong to take down Megatron as fucking bumblebee or something.

I'm legit surprised at how much better the challenges are in this game than Metal Gear Rising, because the ones in Rising are kind of rubbish.

Just finished Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster. It's a good game at its core however the way that inventory works in this game can be a real pain in the ass. It leads to lots of back and forth travel and micro managing your items. The game looks pretty good unfortunately the pre rendered cutscenes really show there age as they haven't been redone. The fixed camera angles can occasionally mess up your orientation when you transition from one angle to another but it's not too bad generally. The story is average fair with some ok boss fights and straightforward puzzle sections but it's an interesting look into the events leading up to the first Resident Evil. 7.5 out of 10.

#50. Beat Quantum Break - 3/10

What a supreme piece of shit. The game is even more shitty than the order about the whole not wanting to be a video game thing.
