My list is frozen in time. I think this is the longest I've gone without playing a video game since 1998.

Newest game added to my list on the first page.

13. Rage 2

How do you take such great gunplay with super powers and make such a boring game out of it. Guns that have cool uses but no enemies that tactically need them, the starting rifle remains the best gun the whole game. All these cool powers and what, you just spam the same three powers over and over. The game world is filled with activities that are just copy paste , same shit for many hours. The game has vehicle combat, then gives you a flying chopper that is the only way to travel around quickly so you never drive again. The first game was way better designed. Shame cause when the combat is working it is like Doom 4. Overall Score 6.5

#15 of the year is Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition.

Same great game as before, with better visuals and frame rate & playing as Duke Nukem makes the game even funnier.

Finished Yoshi’s Crafted World.  It’s pretty fun and challenging at times.  It’s quite different than what I was expecting.

Game #20 is Uncharted 3 remastered.

Still feel this is tied with Uncharted 1 for the worst game in the series. The combat was just too annoying towards the end. Beautiful production for a PS3 game though.

Beat Bravely Second: End Layer yesterday.

There's a bug smack in the middle of the final boss fight, which at first doesn't look like a bug at all, untill you fail to proceed.  Over and over again.  Overall it was an enjoyable game, much like the first.  Too much like the first really, as the overworld and nearly all locations, NPC's and enemies were lifted directly from it.  Still, I enjoyed the story and overall silliness.  Many, many cutscenes in which your party is eating and discussing food.  Fighting a patissier, or a 'catmancer'.  Battling a pirate over the rights to a long lost sea shanty, ...  The game did drag on in the end, with important side characters being revealed too late for you to really grow to care for them enough by the time the game reaches its grand final.  All in all a very charming and enjoyable game, but it dragged on too long and was too similar to the original.  -  7/10

Finished up the 2 main story pieces of DLC for resident Evil 7, Not a Hero and End of Zoe. Both were okay, but I can't say that I liked them as much as the main game. I find Chris redfield to be as boring the character as they come, and I never really got the punching down for Joe. In fact, I couldn't take down swamp Man in normal mode, and after I lost about 20 times in a row I finally had to drop the difficulty down to easy.

Finished Last day of June on Switch.  It's a game about the loss of a partner.  It wasn't really what I expected of it, as the intent of the game was to try and change what happened.  Still, it was very enjoyable, cleverly designed and didn't outstay it's welcome.  It reminded me of Psychonauts and Majora's Mask, as you replay the same segment over and over as the different characters, each with their own ability to change the environment in small ways, which stay in place on your next 'playthrough' as a different character, and so slowly opening up the whole map.  The graphics are very nicely done, set in a quiet sunny southern European town, referrencing both claymation and impressionist painting, with a certain deliberate smudginess that emphasizes more the general vibe than the objects themselves.  Of course, this could be due to hardware restraints more than artistic vision as I was playing the game mostly in handheld mode on Switch, but I prefer to believe it was all part of the artistic vision.  All in all I came away very impressed  -  9/10

Foolz, if you're reading this: I'd love to see impressions from you.  I'm sure you'll find ways to dismiss it as a failed attempt at something or other.

Completed Steam World Dig2 yesterday.  Basically the game was just more of the same, but that is no bad thing.  The game didn't outstay it's welcome and it's satisfying how by the end of the game you have so many upgrades that you can drill through almost anything at great speed.  The end nicely sets things up for the following Steam World games, although it doesn't make you feel like you accomplished much  **SPOILER**  You do get to save the one you were looking for, but the whole planet gets blown up after you board the only rocket in the whole world.

7/10

16. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

Iga returns in great form with an excellent new fake Castlevania game that takes elements from all his games, sort of recrerates the SOTN map and puts a big emphasis on tough bosses. I played on hard and it was the hardest Iga game I have ever played. I actually needed to strategize and take advantage of the multitude of powers I could use. I loved the shard system, obviously its taken straight from the sorrow games and there are some really cool ones in this. It's lengthly, has loads of secrets, great levels and enemies, nice power progression. It does not try anything new, its rather by the book so because of that I won't put it in the class of the best CV games but its in the middle of the IGA pack.

Overall: 8.8

17. Super Mario Maker 2

WOW what a sequel. The first one disappointed me in the end. It was a fun game and I made a bunch of levels but trying to find good stuff to play was painful. This one has so much better ways to find and play great levels. The options available to you are a bit overwhelming, lots of great new items and mechanics. It has a proper story mode with over 100 levels that have so much variety and cover all the new gadgets and items. Full review later but this is a classic.

Platinumed The Order 1886!

This series deserves a sequel. The game had serious issues with hand holding and quick time events, the the structure was there for greatness. Great story, great setting & interesting characters. Gunplay was solid. And still to this day this is one of the best looking games I've ever seen...and it was designed on the base PS4. For a smaller developer, Ready At Dawn really pushed the console insanely hard. All a sequel needs to do is cut way back on the hand holding & QTE crap & give you more exploration, maybe some kind of weapon customization etc.

Far as I can tell, all Ready At Dawn have been doing since this game shipped is VR stuff. Disappointing.

Gotta admit I had a soft spot for The Order. The setting was fantastic.

18. Darksiders 3

Clearly a budget game that has lots of technical issues. Terrible frame rate, some freezes, weird glitches but it works most of the time. When it does you have a solid Souls clone with a dash of Zelda puzzles which kept me entertained for 20 hours or so. Combat is shallow, the same strategies work for basically every enemy. The fun came from exploring the interconnected world and the occasional cool puzzles that made use of all your powers. I am a sucker for these kinds of games so I liked it.

Overall Score: 7.9

19. Castlevania: Rondo of Blood

Oh yeah this is one hell of a classic CV game. It has all the cool branching paths of CV3 with far better graphics and boss battles. This is old school CV at its best.  Overall Score: 8.6

20. Blazing Chrome

Really neat Contra clone thats not as good as Contra 3 but about as close as you are going to get. Score: 7

It’s fine, wouldn’t really go out of my way to play it though.

I got a copy of it from a Wii U Humble Bundle from a few years back. Still haven't so much as turned it on.
