My head explode.
Think of the possibilities. Imagine the director that lands this. There is going to be an epic battle over who gets the next Star Wars movies. Whedon Star Wars? JJ Abrams? Spielberg? Nolan? Jackson?
PIXAR Star Wars movie, MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Or a Marvel Star Wars crossover!
Mickey Mouse Jedi Knight.
Kingdom Hearts 3 with Luke.
Star Wars theme park.
Make Willow 2!
Watch Disney release the original unaltered OT on bluray!
NO FOX LOGO at the start of the new SW movies, so crazy!
This is the best thing I have seen all week.
I did the same thing but its not cute when a grown man does it.

No that isnt happening but it could.
I really like the idea of another Willow. I'm sure it's far too long gone, but I loved that movie like nothing else in the day.
I've seen lots of people freaking out over the Disney buy-out but I can't figure out why it's a bad thing. It's not like the last triology was golden or anything. They've handled Marvel like a dream, so I can't see why this wouldn't go as smoothly.
Kathleen Kennedy will be the Execute Producer and she has a good track record.
Let's be honest, unless they mean Pixar when they say Disney, then it's not much of a step up from Lucas Film.

ROFL a new Star Wars movie. *insert vader "nooooooooooooooo picture here"
Everytime I think they can't rape my childhood any more out comes the vasoline and furry costumes.
Oh yeah that's what I meant. The "Holy shit." was for Disney buying Lucas Films and the rest was just me wanting the idea of a Pixar Star Wars movie to come true.Dvader said:Archangel3371 said:Holy shit. A Star Wars movie by Pixar? Oh hell yeah!No that isnt happening but it could.

Disney owns the rights that doesn't mean they will be doing the movie with their guys. I am sure they will have the biggest search for a director we have ever seen, this is the ultimate prize. How many filmakers are filmakers because of Star Wars, now one lucky guy gets a chance to make their own Star Wars movie.

Based on Len Wiseman getting every big movie remake or sequel from now till the end of time, I predict he will get the job. Or Paul Anderson.
Lucas to donate almost all of his money to educational funding.

For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," said George Lucas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lucasfilm. "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney's reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products."
Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of Lucasfilm, a leader in entertainment, innovation and technology, including its massively popular and "evergreen" Star Warsfranchise and its operating businesses in live action film production, consumer products, animation, visual effects, and audio post production. Disney will also acquire the substantial portfolio of cutting-edge entertainment technologies that have kept audiences enthralled for many years. Lucasfilm, headquartered in San Francisco, operates under the names Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, and the present intent is for Lucasfilm employees to remain in their current locations.
Kathleen Kennedy, current Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm, will become President of Lucasfilm, reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. Additionally she will serve as the brand manager for Star Wars, working directly with Disney's global lines of business to build, further integrate, and maximize the value of this global franchise. Ms. Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.
