Okay, so I like EA quite a bit, indeed quite a bit more than I did a few years ago given their newly-minted love of original game design, but still they have been able to cling fervently to their shameless shilling of evergreen titles such as Madden.

But with one of their crown jewells, Burnout, the ultimate arcade racer, they have been downright stingy with the 7th generation of consoles.  Burnout for the 360 came out in March 2006 - almost FOUR years ago.  Plenty of free and modestly priced add-on content has followed but no sequel.

What do you guys think is going on with Criteria and EA?

No idea but I care not. I bought 3 of them last gen and there have been two more. I cant keep it up.

I can get paradise for 20 bones and that would be my next purchase. Maybe criterion dont want to do another? They are rumoured to be doing a black sequel.

Aside from the demo on Xbox 360, I've never played a Burnout game. I probably should look into getting one someday.

Very tenuous rumor bugs.

On another note, where are the new SSX games EA? What is wrong with this company?

Well, SSX needed a break (as did Burnout).  I'd say it's pretty good franchise management from EA.

An SSX title for the balance board seems like it would be a no-brainer -- maybe they are waiting for Natal?

Seriously though -- no good ideas as to what Criteria is doing?  I read something about them working on (or helping out with) Need for Speed.

You probably heard it on the podcast, because we covered that Nyaa.  Criterion was announced to be developing an as yet unnamed Need for Speed title back in June.  I don't recall seeing any news of it since then.

SSX did not need a break, they needed a new game. Not Blur, a ported mish mash.

Agreed.

It's a game that would easily work cross platform too with its slight stylised visuals.

Forza is going the right direction, I believe. But they took so little time between 2 and 3 that it almost looks like Forza 2.5.

Maybe if I could decorate the inside of the car with special items it would be worth it.

Big words for a guy that put Assassin's Creed in his top 25 list.
