The best Tomb Raider is about a 10th as good as the Uncharteds, but it's the closest thing to it.

That is the sexiest looking Q*bert I've ever seen. Yep, I'm going to pick that one up now too.

All right, well I'll do some more research on it then. Maybe I'll get that in my second wave of games. It certainly has its share of fans being a GOTY after all.

It's much less platforming (and what little platforming there is, is semiautomatic, really) and more gunplay. It's a third person shooter with light platforming elements and outstanding setpieces, especially in the second one.
We will see about Uncharted. Odds are I will get it, and get it soon. At this moment I'd compare it to RE4 in that, it's type of game I almost never play, but is likely something I'd still enjoy the hell out of. That reminds me, I probably need to put RE5 on my list of games to get.
Congrats on the purchase!
I know you said before that you wanted Street Fighter IV, so I guess now is the time to finally get Super SFIV!
As for $20 under games...that may be a tough stretch for any console. From what I saw at stores, Valkryia Chronicles, Demon's Souls, and Metal Gear Solid 4 are $20 new at most stores.
Sorry I can't recommend anymore, but I know for sure those games are $20 right now.

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
If I buy them used, there's no shortage of games at $20 or even less. None at all. Any big name release that has come and is at least 6 months old is at $20. Hell, GTA4 is right around $10 used in most stores (not that I really want it mind you).
First games I would get would be Uncharted 2 and LBP.
Out of the list you want impressions of I have only played Bioshock, which starts out cool and atmospheric but gets kinda old and repetitive. Sorta like the original Dead Space. Batman Arkham asylum is mechanically near perfect (aside from the combat).
Steer clear of Ass creed 1, because 2 and 3 are far better, critically speaking.

No.
Do play Assassin's Creed. But tread lightly and do not linger too much. You'll be rewarded.

I took Steel's advice earlier in the year and played Assassin's Creed I & II back to back instead of just playing number II (and I was rewarded ). I'm glad I did. You don't have to do everything like collect all the stupid flags and do all the sidequests. I enjoyed the main assassination missions and conquering every single viewpoint (my favourite thing about the games). Also playing the original is worth it for seeing the three cities: Damascus, Jerusalem and ... i forget the other one.
The only thing that annoyed me slightly was that the game was not retrofitted with trophies. It would have been nice if it had but it was worth playing for the game alone so it didn't matter all that much

I'm just saying, because 2 and 3 are out and are much better. If Robio starts at 1 he's going to be on this catch up train forever.

On Ass Creed and the idea of playing games in order DO IT. AC1 is horrible by my reckoning, and that is why I never moved on with the series, but I always play the preceding games whenever available before I get into the latest game in a series (which is why I'm only up to Devil May Cry 3 and Final Fantasy 6).
Got to say you guys are making a fantastic case for Assassin's Creed.
Riding the catch up train.
It's like the man train but with less ass.
The catch up train will be 2011's theme. No buying any game at launch price. Unless Dragon Quest X comes out next year I should be able to manage it I think.

The controls suck. It's boring. It takes 40 minutes to install. It is full of win buttons, most of the time you don't feel like you are actually in charge. I can't think of a single good thing about the game.
But I'm the only one on the planet.
