I made it to the DLC, love the look of the area. Seems rather large, good balance of enemies. The Knight of Artorias wooped my ass, took me well over 30 minutes to defeat him. What a boss battle, it was all about learning the exact timing of his attacks, you had to pay attention to every detail to know which attack was coming next. My character cant take a hit so for me its all about dodge and strike, this boss was extremely hard to do but satisfying. One of the best bosses in the game.

I just discovered the fight club but no one was on last night. Hope I can get some matches in today. Oh and a random black dragon swooped in and stared at me, scary. Its just great to have new DS content.

I have also finished dukes archive, killed seath and got his tail.

I did loads of PVP yesterday and I think its half broken. It seems to me there is a major backstab glitch that is what mostly everyone goes for. Once I was diving away from a guy and he magically teleported behind me and killed me with a back stab. Then there are these dudes with super weapons, I saw one that was the size of Cloud's sword and it looked like it was on fire and electricity at the same time, one hit and I was dead. One dude did some crazy area spell that released these golden circles around him, well one of them lached on to me and drained my life in seconds, WTF was that. Some other dude has this force powered force field attack, I got close and boom I went flying, dead.

The only time invading is fun is when you get someone who is not waiting for a duel and is simply trying to navigate a level.

That dragon that jumps on the bridge is kalameet.  The guy you wanted to fight.  There is a path close to where you enter Artorias arena that leads down to him.  But you need to talk to some NPC to mame him for you first so you can fight him.

Knight Artorias never killed me.  I got him first time, and I've been summoned at least a dozen or more times by people to fight him with them.  I punish him every time, even when it's just me and one other player not the total of three.  The one or two times I didn't kill him was when a summoner went and died.

Invaders piss me off.  Most of them are really cowardly and they are so limited and predictable, they'll either try to backstab you or just do "wrath of god" endlessly until you die.  I kill most of them but they're very annoying nevertheless.  I went to the chasm yesterday and was killing those ghosts but I couldn't find the boss in that area.

I'm pissed off for not unlocking the pyromancy trophy.  I have every single pyromancy WTF?  Stupid glitch that was the one I really wanted.

I didn't get Seath's tail.  Apparently that's a very good weapon from what they say.

I love the pendant that deflects the black fireball attacks, adds a whole new dimension to the defense. This dlc is really sweet. Oh and some dude that summons me took me to fight kamaleet, mommy help me... That dude is crazy.

After trying to fight Manus mano-o-mano about a dozen times and getting my ass kicked I resorted to my dirty bow and arrow tactics and killed him from outside the fog with about 400 cheap arrows and several finger cramps.  I showed him.

Now just Kalameet left and Gwyn.  I can't do Kalameet on my own and I keep getting invaded before I can summon anyone in Oolaciel.  Not sure what to do.  Maybe I should just go fight Gwyn and be done with.

... get on with the rest of my life

Kalameet is dead, first try alone!!!! Easiest fight in the game!!!! Woo!

I am running around murdering everyone, all I have left is to simply finish so I am having some fun with the NPCs.

Did you get his tail as well?

I am also at the end and I'm only thinking in terms of trophies, about whether I want to upgrade any more weapons etc, though farming slabs for final upgrades is a pain and I don't know if I can be bothered.  I want to do NG+ though to get both endings.  Haven't decided which one I will go for first time... maybe the evil one devil

It's no big deal, it doesn't count towards the rare weapon trophy anyway.

OK, so Black Dragon Kalameet is thoroughly dead.  Did it with just one summoned warrior.  Both of us survived the fight.

I think this is about it ... just the Lord Gwyn himself left.  I don't want to kill docile merchants and NPCs for loot.  And I don't want to bother with farming etc just to get a few more weapon trophies.  I wouldn't mind discovering more covenants but I think the ones left are a bit of a pain.

I enjoy being summoned as a phantom to fight Artorias or Kalameet but it doesn't happen that much anymore.  I also kind of enjoy being invaded and dealing with dark phantoms on occasion (I remember when I used to hate nothing more than this).  Still haven't invaded anyone's game myself, maybe I should try that.  ... Nah

Anyway, perhaps time to wrap it up for a while and get on with other things ... like life, until DS2 releases in spring

Gwyn was a bit of a let down.  I almost felt sorry fighting him.  But I guess you're kind of meant to feel that way because he used to be a good guy.  Killed him first attempt.  I was planning on farming titanite chunks from the knights in the final level for longer but in the end I just couldn't be asked.

So anyway, I linked the fire.  I fuckin love this game.

So after finishing this game I started thinking about what else I wanted to play.  And I still couldn't come up with anything.  I tried wanting to play Windwaker HD, and I tried wanting to play Pikmin but I couldn't force it and decided it wouldn't be fair to those games (I'm sure I will want to play them at some point).

... so I just kind of casually kept playing Dark Souls into NG+, just to kill a few more undead etc that sort of thing ...

... I have now cleared all the bosses I had access to prior to dealing with Smough and Ornstein and obtaining the lordvessel in Anor Londo.  It's more than three times harder than the first time of playing (in terms of HP and damage dealt by enemies) but so far I have killed every boss on the first time of trying.  I hardly ever get to level up any more (the amount of souls required is crazy high).

Anyway, unless I get stuck on any of the bosses and seem unable to proceed, I will likely play until the end just so I get the Dark Lord (bad) ending.  Tempted to try for platinum though some of the weapons and miracles are a pain to obtain so I don't think I will

Another landmark ... sort of.  Smough and Ornstein on NG+ are supposed to be a measuring stick i.e. they are notoriously difficult.  Now as you remember that bossfight haunted me from previous (attempted) playthroughs even the first time through (let alone NG+ which is supposedly many times more vicious)...

Needless to say I was very apprehensive of this and sort of expected a pounding.  Well I was pleasantly surprised by how well I handed myself.  In fact I only lost once and I could have got it first time if I hadn't got cocky near the end.  Also, I did this on my own, no one summoned - not even my great friend Artora.  What's more ... I killed Smough first and Ornstein second, which is supposedly the hard way and one is advised to do this on the first playthrough and leave Smough second on NG+ which is supposedly much easier.  But I got Smough's soul last time around so I had no option but to do it the hard way.  And I did.  In fact I totally cained it.  So now I have added Ornstein's soul and the Leo ring to my bottomless chest!

PS I know hardly anyone cares about this anymore, but I still don't feel like playing anything else.

Some of us still care. It's been a joy to read how your playthrough went from sour-ish and hesitant because of the many times you had trouble before to confidently steamrolling your way through NG+. Congrats on beating O&S again on NG+.

Thanks Steel, your advice was great help in getting me started on a sound foundation ... which is more than half the battle won in this game.

Soul brothers forever!

PS I've been summoned to fight O&S a couple more times.  It's great fun, I really enjoy it.  The last guy (summoner) practically just watched me kill them and provided the occasional estus swig (which was all the help I needed anyway)

Thanks Vader, I'll keep posting further impressions then since you and Steel are still interested.  I hope to play on at least until I finish NG+ so that I can see the bad ending.  Depending on how I feel then I may or may not play on to try for platinum.  The hardest trophies to get is the miracles one which requires entering and ranking up on at least three different covenants (which is a lot of hard work if you know what it entails), and the collect all rare weapons one, this one takes at least two and a half play-throughs as you need three rare weapons all created with the soul of Sif (and you only get it once per playthrough) - the rest should be done by the time I finish NG+.  I regret not cutting Seath's tail as that is a requirement for this trophy and it will be much harder on NG+ ... but I will do it

I never could cut Seath's tail in two playthroughs. It's too damn annoying, the way he flails his other tails and spins to hide its big one. He should be like the stray demon, that guy is never shy of showing his grotesque asscrack at all times.
