GRAVEYARD VARIETY PACK CONTENT UPDATE AND PATCH NOTES

Seems as if this game is an overwhelming success, surpassing the first by far! EA and PopCap are committing to supporting it for quite a while and are serious about balancing it so it's a top-tier contender for the online shooter genre!!

At the end of Turf Takeover matches, if the Plants are defending, you have to stop the Zombies from using a battering ram to bring down a castle's gates.

If the the Zombies are defending, you play somewhat of a sports match where you have to push giant balls into targets at the ends of a pinball table like field... on a low gravity space station... on the moon...

This is truly one of the most creative shooters I've seen... ever!

This is going to sound very strange, but if you have kids and don’t mind them getting into an online shooter, GW2 is the game to get.

Going by mic clues alone, there’s a REALLY diverse mix of kids, adults, college-age players and even parents playing with or watching over their kids playing.

Graphics are beautiful. Game is colorful as all hell and it has that odd-ball sense of humor that Plants vs. Zombies is known for.

Not that I would ever call a shooter “family-friendly” but I’ve never heard slurs or rage-rants or bullying… anything close yet.

Kids don’t always care if they’re standing over your corpse and they could easily revive you if they wanted…

…and I’ve encountered a few instances of blaring (bad) music over mics… and lots of sniffles, coughs, kids complaining (mostly in spanish) and parents yelling at their kids in the backgrounds, but overall it’s been a VERY positive experience!

Even though there’s a fair share of kids, don’t think you’ll top the rankings, right off the bat! Little rug-rats are pretty damn good –and– seem to have limitless time to unlock the heavy-hitting characters and upgrades!

Again, no regrets in purchasing this one!  Grinning

It's a SUPER shame I seem to be the only person I know playing this...

When it tell you it's the most colorful, funniest, most content-PACKED shooter to ever come out, it's not an exaggeration!

It captures the spirit of PvZ perfectly and runs on a modified Battlefield engine.

It's ALWAYS super-active... I've NEVER had to wait more than a few SECONDS to find a match in any game type and have NEVER encountered any game-breaking glitches or performance issues.

If you've EVER been an online shooter fan in any way, shape or form... you HAVE TO give this game a chance!!

I have PvZ GW1 and never tried it, it was free. If PvZ 2 was free I would try it.

I'm sorely tempted.  Maybe I can find it for rent.

I am utterly amazed every, single time I check the status of my unlocks in the game... Just when you think you're making headway, you open the book that displays the "stickers" you've collected, and you realize there's THOUSANDS more to get... Yes, THOUSANDS!!

The stickers represent pieces of Rare, Ultra Rare and Legendary characters, Alternate Attacks for the characters, Customization Items and Gestures, among other things...

There's hundreds of character variations and thousands of things to collect for them... It's unreal!!

Best of all... ALL of the character classes are SUPREMELY playable! There are times when you get placed on a Zombie team or a Plant team and you have to choose characters you might not have expected to... They are ALL fun to play and are balanced SO well, this game is a text-book example of how all following shooters SHOULD be, serious, funny or otherwise!!

My Mortal Kombat buddy bought a PS4 a while back so we could play online (we haven't)...

...he bought this game for his nephew because he and his wife just had their first child and the wife's family is coming over often to help out and the boy needed something to play.

My bud is incredibly intrigued by this game, but it's unlike anything he's played before, so I'm actually thinking of putting together a "How to Play / Strategy Guide" for him that would show all the characters and how to play AS them. We'll see if I get around to it. I'll either post it or share it here!

I'd really like to get this game. Perhaps I'll pick it up after I get Dark Souls III.

My best friend is in the army and our days of co-opting games are pretty much done.  Sad. I guess my son can be my wingman someday.

What's what in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2:

Team Vanquish -- Plants versus Zombies; First team to get to 50 kills, wins. Reviving an ally deducts from the other team's score.

Vanquished Confirmed -- When killed, Zombies drop Purple Orbs, Plants drop Green. Collect your enemies or deny your allies by picking up their orbs. First to 50 wins.

Gnome Bomb -- Bombs strapped to Garden Gnomes are randomly dropped into a stage which has 3 Gardens and 3 Tombstones. Pick up the gnome and make a mad dash for the enemies totem. If the gnome is planted, you have 30 seconds to disarm it before he blows. First to destroy the other team's 3 Gardens/Tombstones wins!

Suburbination -- Raise a Garden or Tombstone at 3 points on a map. Gain points for areas you hold; the more you have, the faster your points go up. Bonus cash for achieving 'Suburbination' and holding all three at once! The first to reach 100 points wins!

Turf Takeover -- Capture or Defend areas depending on the team chosen to do so at the start. Hold an area to successfully defend and Win --OR-- lose them and have your enemies penetrate deeper into your territory. The last area to defend incorporates crazy rules that vary upon the area. In Time Park, the Plants have to hold a castle and defend it's gate from the Zombies. On the moon, the Plants and Zombies compete in a Pinball/Soccer like battle, pushing giant metal balls into goals to power or destroy a giant magnet. Maybe you'll crash the Zombies graduation party or Free the Yeti King from his icy tomb... one way or another THIS is one of the most unique game modes you'll ever experience in a third-person shooter!

The Welcome Mat -- Basic Team Vanquish rules apply here, featuring the Plants and Zombies from Garden Warfare 1... without all the crazy variations that were introduced in 2!

Garden Ops / Graveyard Ops -- Horde mode! Yourself and up to three others (AI or Online players) defend a point on a Map for 10 increasingly difficult waves of attacks. Watch for random objectives introduced into certain stages or Boss Attacks halfway thru and at the end of these modes!

The above are the Multiplayer Modes included in PvZ: GW2. You can also explore the Backyard Battlefield on your own... or allow friends in via online or split-screen play! This was a little Suburban town that was taken over by the Zombies where a stalemate currently is happening. Half the town belongs to the Zombies, the other the Plants. Chests are littered throughout the Backyard, mini-games and missions can also be found. In the center is a Flag that can be raised by either side to initiate yet another style of Horde Mode to earn Cash and Experience! Enemies are always patroling this battlefield and as you fight them, the conflict escalates until even Bosses join the fray!

On either side of the Backyard is the Zombies and Plants base. In there, you will find an extensive Quest mode that is meant as a Single-player experience... but can also be played with friends if you wish! Engage in missions in the Backyard or Play variations on Horde modes or battle bosses and unique enemies set to a crazy kind of story you have come to expect from Plants vs. Zombies!

There's A LOT of different modes and they can be totally overwhelming at first, but knowing what to expect, you're already half-way to winning!
